Does this mean that my line supports 8mbps ?
Just wondering, as it's what I saw in my Routers Internet Status panel...
It just means 'error' in the ADSL modem software.
If you read the Wikipedia entry for G.Dmt, it explains very carefully how 8192kbps is the maximum downstream speed (the maximum upstream is typically 1/10th of this speed).

All this means is that it seems you're syncing at G.DMT (which can't exceed 8Mbps downstream), and also that your line should be capable of at least 8Mbps, WHEN telkom finally decides to upgrade your exchange (and the rest of us) to 10Mbps... oh, and it probably also means you have a Siemens Gigaset 762sx... because it's the only modem I know that mixes up the rate on the web UI, showing 8128 as the max UPSTREAM when it should be DOWNSTREAM. But if you view the page source u can find more stats, which are accurate.Does this mean that my line supports 8mbps ?

Think I just saw the bug. It's at the bottom right of korn101's router status page.
G.DMT's maximum supported downstream speed is 12Mbps, by the way.
