Hi, have noticed for the past few weeks that quite often, if I am using the P up/down button to skip through channels, that I get the error message that tells me there's a problem with the connection and I need to press 'Menu 13' to rescan. I've found, however, that if I actually 'dial' the relevant channel number, then it comes up fine. At first I thought it might be a fault with my decoder, but this past weekend while at my folks, they were complaining of the same thing, as well as the fact that one of the channels they used to have access to, is now barred. Anyone else having this problem?

Can't say I've had that problem - yet. Though I have been blocked from pvr functions twice so far, as well as once from HD channels.
Been fine for the last 2 months or so.

I wish that somebody who lives near to that Multi-Choice center in Randburg would buy the lousy DSTV product for the sole purpose of taking it back to them every day, irritating Multi-Choice no-end.

I wish that they would film their escapades in the oh-so-lush center of Multi-Choice happiness, and eventually compile the film clips into evidence to help win the mass court case against Multi-Choice for the complete lack of responsibility that Multi-Choice accept on behalf of their customers.

I mean seriously:
- you're forced to purchase a product that you never actually belongs to you (the decoder)
- you're forced to cart their product around to their centers for repairs at your cost
- you are not refunded for any downtime caused by any kind of fault
- no guarantee's are in place regarding repeated content, they don't even provide for a set amount of premieres a month on their most expensive contract
- your contract is worded so that you are forced to prove that you have canceled your contract with Multi-Choice on their terms using their information

What a scam.

Life is going to get very interesting for Multi-Choice once the customer protection act becomes part and parcel of daily life.

Lol, I feel your frustration. My biggest irritation at the moment though is limited to the Discovery channel episodes where they continue to be shown with no subtitles, so I sit there staring in complete incomprehension at someone explaining a crucial factor in the documentary, and not knowing what has been said. They apparently know about the problem, but clearly still haven't done anything about it.

Yes, I have had this problem ... I have a 1100 decoder. Why dont you post this on the DSTV forum??

What Ponder said...! If it's not just me who has it, then it's obviously not just my decoder. Was wondering if one of their firmware upgrades introduced the gremlin.

I've seen this a lot. A few customers that get it. As for what Dave said, too bloody right. Multi-choice are complete @rse-crevices. I wouldn't even dignify them by calling them @rse-holes.

I have 2 decoders a 1100 and a 1110 at 2 locations and on both i have the same problem, I have noticed if you use the + and - and go past the HD channles you get the menu13 to rescan. Normaly i just press the menu button and then about 5 to 10 seconds later the normal channles works again.
