Once again MWEB and Seacom have failed the internet using public, leaving any attempt at using the internet to connect to places outside SA (imagine that -_-), slowed to a near standstill. It was supposedly fixed several times, and when you phone MWEB, all they tell is that there is a problem, and they don't know anything else. Well done boys. I don't really see the point of paying them for uncapped internet, and then being unable to use it when I actually have time on the weekend.

and how come our OpenWeb Uncapped... which is also supposed to be Seacom bandwidth is working just fine?

To be honest, I dont blv this is Seacom, Mweb is playing with the throttling, How can HTTP be fine but all or most other protocols are dead?

They did (in their defence) say that they have only lost "half their bandwidth" so they shut down all other protocols and gave preference to HTTP.

So the Web protocol is using all the available bandwidth.

Exactly, I ave now sent an e mail to Mweb telling them to stop ****ing around with my account or cancel it.
Ga, how come they are the only ones to lose bandwidth?
How come Openweb has not?

Is it time to jump ship? I dont get how this can only be an MWEB / Seacom issue? This has to be Mweb playing around and limiting us on purpose.
Gary, what is the FUP limit on Openweb? Do they also shape the crap out of everything?

I hope not - been rather pleased with MWEB up to now - but you never know, hope there is no hidden agenda here.

not sure what the fair usage policy is hey ? but im on about 500 gigs for may... you need more ?

I think that Openweb seems like the way to go. Keoma the CEO of Openweb is always available to help members of the public out.

For the Uncapped Express (R1299) there is no FUP or at least no detectable limiting or shaping (other than the business hours window).

For the cheaper versions (R500 etc.) it is similar to M-web's published FUP... but in practice I don't think it will be implemented as harshly. But I can't say... I've never used that cheaper version. Ask the other guys here or in here...http://mybroadband.co.za/vb/showthread.php?224044-Openweb-Uncapped-Feedback

I'm also on afrihost and got skreded when I realised I exceeded 200gb and my nice 4mb uncapped is now magically 512kbps!!!

Does openweb shape other protocols heavily during the day? I'm concerned about VPN connections
