Good Evening

I'm not sure if I'm the only one out there who feels like their MWEB Premium account is being throttled. Although MWEB says the account is not throttled.

I took YouTube, who according to MWEB streaming services get high priority on the network. But with screenshot below, you can see that I starts out fast, but then slowing slows down.

But yet, any speed test always run at full line speed.

When ever I complain on their Facebook page. They asks for a speed test. Which as you can see normal. But then anything other, browsing, Streaming and downloading is only running at about 32 kB/s.

Should I keep nagging them, or move to another provider?

Regards
Grant

I suggest you ask MWEB Guy for an account reauth, also try switching to another realm - @mweb.co.za / @dslmweb.co.za.

I'm also getting shaped/throttled this evening. 4mbps premium uncapped.

I'm on 2mbps premium uncapped, shows unthrottled as well. Ever since last night downloads and speedtest results tanked completely - my last speedtest had a 595ms latency - youtube and BF4 gaming is impossible :( Was better this morning from about 07h00 to 09h00 but then got worse again.

My account was reauthed about 90 minutes ago and router reset - made no difference.

I'm not ADSL expert, but when latency goes that high. It might mean congestion at the exchange. You can check if the second hop on the tracert is higher than 20ms

I don't suppose there is anything that I can do about that then? It was completely fine until yesterday late afternoon when it ground to a sad and depressing halt

Hi Grant

I'd like to arrange a call back for you with a specialist to do some test.
Could you please PM me your preferred 2 contact numbers.
Streaming is prioritised on our network so it should perform better baring any external factors on the connection.

Hi Lachdanan

Could you please drop me a PM with your account info so that I may check this out for you.
Based on these results though it does look like you may be affected by congestion at the exchange.
I would like to test the line as well to see what sort of readings I get.
