MWEB Uncapped ADSL Feedback - Part 3

What I do not understand from mweb.

Most people get signed up due to "the tech savvy" person in the family / friends circle gets asked which ISP etc to go for.

I did that.
Thus signing up easily 10+ people with mweb for various things, email, web hosting , uncapped, capped etc.

Now who looks like a tool for saying mweb has "superior network etc"

Bad luck mweb, as I am currently busy helping those people move their stuff away from you.

So you just not loosing me for hitting 100GB, but I am taking the business I brought with me.

Enjoy!

More moneys for MThieves?

I can't believe they are pulling these moves they are going to fail, especially since they started the whole uncapped, unthrottled thing
Now all other ISPs have catched up and offer better than them

Mwebguy can you please check my line? I'm constantly dcing and getting inconsistent line speeds.

I tried the Afrihost account for free and it does not do the same. Please :'(

Afternoon GhostZA

I sent you a PM, please have a look and provide me with the information.

If MWeb were traffic cops, they'd pull you over for speeding without knowing what the speed limit is exactly.
Suck It MWeb, I've already cancelled and will be ensuring everyone I've pushed in your direction follows my lead.

MWEB TAKE NOTE OF THE ABOVE!

Hahaha! Sooo, MWeb thinks we are all stupid!

On 2MB line and have only reached 80GB this month ... AND I GOT THROTTLED!

My usage has not changed significantly in the past 18 months!

If MWeb does not want my business by not providing me with the service I am paying for then they are forcing me to go elsewhere. This also obviously precludes me from ever advertising their business by word-of-mouth recommendations to all who have asked (and will ask in future) me for ISP recommendations!

Oh the irony, first everyone fled afrihost and telkom to mweb.... now they are all flee-ing back :wtf:

I think there was a change in management at Mweb between then and now.

If only that was the only change ... they've even gone so far as to unilaterally change the very product that they have pioneered! And have been promoting as uncapped (shaped), upon which many (I, for one) signed up for!

*UPDATE: Sent off e-mail requesting downgrade to 1GB capped account @ R29.00 p.m. wef 01 October 2013. Also to migrate my adsl line rental back to Telkom ASAP. AND cancelled my debit order.

Well as I stated already. I sent off my cancellation form last night after I was told from Mwebguy I was being limited. Cant even browse google news without having to wait for the page to load.

As expected. No response from there cancellation department today. I find it disgusting , that when u want to upgrade something with them. They reply within a few minutes. But to cancel they draaaaaaagggg it along.

A question I have though. I have a bundled 1 meg uncapped from them. If i cancel with them . And get my line migrated back to Telkom by the end of the month. Am i only forced to pay the 1 meg uncapped price for October ? or the full bundle price ?

They took a few days to confirm my cancellation, I'm guessing that their cancellation department is very busy at the moment. You can downgrade your uncapped to 1GB capped by contacting the cancellation dept. This too took a few days to get response, but when it arrived it was polite and helpful.

How does MWEB meter ADSL?

I have a 1mbps uncapped account (non-premium) with mweb. I am running a router which has DD-WRT installed (custom firmware). DD-WRT stores a record of WAN traffic (both uploads and downloads). The record that I have on my router is on average three or four times less than the usage that MWEB claims through the account dashboard. Has anyone got any idea how MWEB meters these accounts? Has anyone else observed similar discrepancies?

I am open to the possibility that the DD-WRT figures are wrong, however given my own knowledge of my own data usage I am very skeptical about the MWEB figures (while the DD-WRT figures seem more plausible)

Incidentally I have been throttled for the below usage...

All figures below are in Megabytes
