Well a few posts back Mwebguy stated the throttling goes on for 3-4 days

The length of time that an account will be throttled for differs for each user dependent on their usage patterns.

Haven't even done half that and now have sub-dial-up speed it seems. There is throttling and there is trying to whip you into submission... inexplicably most of just leave. Only hung in there so long because I did not want to have to buy another router. Think I'll try a generic firmware for mine at the end of the month before I spend any money on a new one... even if it's bricked I'm never coming back to mweb so whatever.

Guys who are throttled, please post whether you are premium or regular uncapped, and what line speed, as well as your usage before throttling.

I understand the throttling, but my internet has become almost unusable. I was getting almost 0.9Mbps before the throttling and I can't even complete a speed test now. It goes down to 0.12Mbps and then gets stuck. Our family is on premium uncapped 1Mbps bundled. I think our last 30 days of usage is in the region of 125GB.

I phoned Mweb support this morning and they said I was on 94 GB, BS if you ask me. I only download during the night from 11 until 8 the next morning.

Afternoon, I can confirm that you have moved 95.1Gig already this month. You can verify this via My Account.

I've been happy with my mweb service up till now, but lately the performance has been terrible (especially youtube!!)

Thinking of jumping over to Afrihost.

Hi hawker

I checked your account and could not find any issues on it but have refreshed it for you.

Have you perhaps refreshed the ADSL port?

MWEB will loose me soon and many others. I dont like the way they implemented th throttling. Take it from Openweb. During the day torrents and so on will be shaped to about 10KB/s or less but in the afternoon it's as fast as you can go. This account is only like R100 or so more but it's unthrottled.

Hi Convex

I checked your account and you are currently being speed limited. This can be viewed in My Account by logging in with your MWEB primary email address.

Time to move on from mweb!

Throttled after using 69 GB on their 1 meg uncapped line. Is it worth upgrading to the 2meg or am I just going to be throttled again! All my friends have already changed to other isps. Perhaps time i do the same..

Do it. I'm constantly getting full speed throughout the day. :D

For people getting throttled, the best option is to either upgrade to a business account or switch to another isp.

Definitely going to switch over. Tired of this rubbish.
