Good Afternoon Mephisto_Helix, no feedback as yet; however I can assure you its just a matter of time. We will provide you guys more detail once we receive feedback from our network team.

Anything everyone elses side? Mine is still dead.

Can i also try a new IP Please.

Just to reportback.

After a few PMs back and forth, and 2 calls to Telkom, turns out my issue was that my line wasn't verified.
Rather confusing, since I've been using it since December 2009, but ours not to reason why.

Thanks MWEB Guy!

Hi MongooseMan,

Could you please inbox me your details.
I would like to look into your problem for you.

Kind regards,
MWEB Guy

Still dead here

Good evening Schumi, please note that the query is still open with our network team. We will provide you feedback once they conclude their investigation.

quite slow this morning

been noticing heavy spikes in downloads last couple of days

wondering if it has anything to do with my line that now synch at 6meg, but wonder if they tried the 10meg

Just checked my mweb mail box and I see I have 2 abuse notices. I share my line with a mate of mine and found out that he has left downloads on all the time excluding a few hours each evening when I came home.

I exploded so badly that he was actually almost in tears. Anyhow he has gone back to only downloading from midnight to 6am. Mweb rep please can you make sure I don't get the ban hammer? This won't happen again.

Hi Everyone

We’re very excited to announce that we have achieved some major milestones in the growth of MWEB’s superfast network. We have a triple play of great news today, with our 10GB national backbone now fully operational between JHB, Durban and Cape Town, our Durban IP Connect link going live and a significant increase in our international bandwidth!

Congrats, thanks for everything!

Well Done Mweb

Mweb Guy or Will, can you please explain to me how mweb deems abuse, Is it the amount you download or the hours, in the last few weeks I have seen a few posts the people says that they get these abuse warnings. I just want to make sure that my downloads are within the norm...

Hi Tman

This is a question which hasn't been asked in quite a while, which means the system is working :)

We don't look at one specific factor, but rather our abuse team use multiple criteria to detect ongoing patterns of abusive behavior and then send out warnings if they feel that it's appropriate. We use a 3 strike system, meaning that you would have to receive 3 warnings within a certain time period, after which we will terminate the service if you decide not to move to a more appropriate product.

We have been accused of having vague rules at times, but the truth is this works very well for us and it means that the vast majority of our customer base, who really don't even know that there is such a thing as abuse can continue using the product without having to worry about rolling thresholds, or any other such confusing and frustrating 'gig watching' policies.

The amount of warnings that we issue on a monthly basis is a tiny fraction of our customer base and an interesting statistic I just calculated: We currently have somewhere in the region of an 85% success rate on customers complying with first warnings and not prompting any further action from us, which I think is great! :)

Hope that addresses your concerns.
