Same experience as Kosmik. Paid News Server working.
Mine doesn't connect.
Server: news.mweb.co.za
Status: Enabled
# Connections: timed out
Pings fine and IP resolves from name.
HI Guys, if you could please provide me the following detail; as this would assist me in our escalation process. I would like this to be investigated as soon as possible.
Are your DNS settings on automatic?
Are you never able to access the server, or is it just slow at certain times? If it's never what error messages do you get when attempting to establish a thread?
Have you tried disabling your firewall?
Have you tried alternative news client software?
Are you able to ping news.mweb.co.za and what IP does it resolve to?
Hi I've tried altbinz and grabit , my setup has been working for the past 5 months. Dns is automatic.
Mine connects and starts to download but just times-out without downloading anything.
Same as above for me too. Ping and tracert are fine, was working yesterday. He's correct in that it appears to connect but no downloads happen.

Still not working this morning just fyi.
Not to sure about other people.
I can ping websites fine. Local pings to mweb/mybroadband are around 40ms.
I can't browse any websites except google.co.za :/
Rebooted the router for a different IP, even tried Google's DNS servers.
Same issue, in mowbray, cape town. Where you based?
Scratch that, can't even ping google.co.za
Router diagnostics say fine for everything except pinging the DNS.
Have tried googles DNS but no luck there either.
Anyone else having similar issues?
