MWEB Uncapped ADSL - Official Q & A

Does anyone know who "Broadband Infraco" is? I've heard some guys talking about them and the State is denying that they have any share in this company? Is this going to be Telkom's competition? ICASA has turned down a request for licence

Is it not possible to close this thread, update the OP with a minimalist FAQ for n00bs and start MWEB Q&A V2
Hi hambone,

Not really sure this would help, as reps do not have any mod rights. Even if we did, this is a public forum and I dont believe it would be within our mandate to censor comment.

MWB.

I wish the moderators on this forum would start doing their jobs.

Hi Aquadog,

Moderators cannot read every post on this forum, this thread for instance is already 152 pages, but with the help of the members and the Report Post (small triangle) feature we can attend to the offending posts as this alerts all Moderators immediately via email with a direct link to the specific posts in question, but is up to the members to be quick on the trigger and to use this built-in feature.

The first alert was received in my Inbox at 10h28, with delays in the mail server and my quick action I think most of the offending posts were cleaned out within 10 minutes of the notification. Up until that point I/we had no idea there was a problem.

I sent an email last week Thursday to Mweb's sales address and still haven't got a reply. Is their service normally like this? I want to have an account starting May.
Hi Maddmatt,

Apologies for the delay in response, please PM MWEB Operations for assistance.

MWB.

Thanks. I got a response earier so I guess there wont be a need for that.
Would be nice if there was some kind of online sign-up, saves having to talk to the sales people on the phone for those of us with existing internet connections.

More lucky than I, superslow everything (Have to refresh several times to get anywhere!) and torrents at 0.03kps XD

Yeah torrents are unfortunately suffering and international traffic is not that great, but it is understandable given whats going on...

My torrents dont even start up, http and you tube go slowly and stop half way

Some people are reporting Afrihost and MWEB working fine all day... what gives with that?

Some people have different usage patterns, I guess. GMail scarcely worked for me today though so go figure.

Seems to be location-based as well. For example, I got several times the speed in a speedtest to NY than I got to London, and about half the latency.

So, access to Europe was slow, while access to the US was better. Some websites loads faster than others. Even Second Life was kinda usable, though media streaming was horribly broken.

Torrents - useless right now, as I expected.

Given the outage, I would rate my link as "mostly usable" right now. I can deal with this until Friday.

Is Rapidshare completely dead today, or is it just me? And I don't mean slow. Can't connect at all.

The low-priority pool is currently non-existent, due to the SEACOM maintenance. There's too much high-priority traffic on the available links.

Yes. I'm having the same issue. Thought it was my new Firefox 3.6.3 that was acting up.
Rapidshare jumps straight from countdown to download window and then nothing downloads.
Someone broke rapidshare. :-(
Started this morning at about 7am.
