everyone check the Seacom update thread. Might be completed by midnight tonight.

Been away for a while, go home yesterday and had major issues with the internet. I had a quick look at some of the previous post on this thread.
Just to confirm the issues are as a result of the seacom work being done?
Any idea when the fixes on seacom will be done?
(From http://www.mweb.co.za/legalpolicies/ProductsServices/ADSLTerms2010/tabid/1918/Default.aspx)4.4 If you signed up after the 15th of the month, your first bill will include half the subscription for the first month and the full subscription for the following month.

So if I sign up on Friday the 30th, will this still apply? Seems a bit much for what wont even be a full day. I guess I should rather wait until Saturday to apply, if that's possible with Saturday being a public holiday?
My torrents from private trackers aren't working at all since around Monday [?] ('connection closed by peer' error).
Is MWEB blocking access to private trackers, or is this only a side-effect of the cable problems?
Getting the same on all my public trackers. I will wait until SEACOM comes back up first, though.
A quick tcpdump shows the SYN/ACK handshake, a single data packet flowing, containing the torrent info, and then immediately a RESET is received.
Ok so i am pretty sure this question has been asked b4 but for the life of me i cant find it so again my apologies.
i got the 4096Kbps uncapped offering form mweb and the 4096Kbps ADSL line from telkom obviously. now i am new to mweb and hear from a friend that sometime in the past they bumped up users speeds.
so wat i wanna know is say i upgrade to telkom 8mb line will mweb 'bump' me up or will there be a new option for me to choose from?
Depending on how Telkom realigns present speeds, you may find that 8mb is the equivilant of todays 4 and todays 4 is 512 etc. Que Sera, Que Sera!
Looks like we back in business... cable fixed...

Or maybe not. Was basing my enthusiasm on a rapidshare download that resumed successfully for the 1st time in about 3 days... but it's stalled now... so... sorry...
