Everything redone and sorted out. Can't wait to get home to try my uncapped UNSHAPED 4MB account

*Hope I will not be let down*

I'm done with Mweb. Had a really good experience when I was switched to an Unshaped trial last week, but once it switched back to the Shaped account I realised how bad even my HTTP experience had become. Last night was terrible...nothing but timeouts and slow loading pages with no downloads on the go at the same time. Unshaped Uncapped is great, but I'm not paying an extra R200p/m for decent service.

Anybody know if I can cancel online or do I need to phone them again?

It seems as you only have a problem with P2P downloads, as we do not shape gaming traffic; you are also on a shaped account.

NNTP and other P2P type activities are managed on our uncapped shaped products and available bandwidth for these services is contended with other P2P users.

This means that speeds can fluctuate from time to time and while we always strive to give as much bandwidth as possible to these services we make no guarantees about how well they will perform.

This has been discussed extensively on these forums and my recommendation to all P2P users is to consider the overall amount of bandwidth you have used for the month, rather than speed watch on a daily basis.

If you require the immediacy of line speed transfers for your P2P needs then I would urge you to consider moving to an unshaped product.

Are you still having connectivity issues?

Kind regards,
MWEB Ops

Mine never fluctuates - it's always slow. Always.

Check from 1am to about 4am - thats the only time you get any decent speed from NNTP (Not sure about P2P)
At other times they apply heavy shaping in stepped intervals. ie at 6pm then give you a little more bandwidth, then again at 8pm, 10pm, then reverse the process at 6am.

I have been - sometimes it's going at 80kB/s, other times at 39kB/s. Once it went up to between 130kB/s and 150kB/s, but other than that, 80kB/s and below :/

Hi Iwojima

We regret loosing you as a customer. If your HTTP Downloads are not at the speeds that you would prefer them to be for a shaped account, your only other option would be to get a capped or unshaped account.

Kind regards
MWEB Operations
