But I am able to ping the server:

What I do is add 2 servers: news.mweb.co.za and 196.28.78.229 (with 3 connections each). When ones down, the other is normally up for me. So try that before you say the server is down.

384 account was decent, just hated the daytime shaping.
Fought for about 5 or 6 months to get a 4Mb account but that's working great now. So far, the highest I've done in a month was about 60GBs I think.

I think , being a thread about uncapped, there should be sufficient interest around ussage as well as speeds. How about hearing what max gigs have been used to date on a monthly basis

My news server downloads were STILL broken when I Went to bed last night. It is ridiculous. I was able download at great speeds over the weekend, the same file.

I tried a file with a lot of sources, still, same issue.

The news.mweb.co.za server BARELY connects, I'm lucky if I get 5K speeds.

EDIT, I got good speeds with a trial membership from Giganews, as I'm still trying to see if a paid severer is worth it. As things are going now, NO.

Some feedback.

I am very happy with the service of late. Yes there is brutal shaping the bulk of the day, yet I can manage to download a fair amount of gigabytes per month.

My browsing is fine during the day. I seldom do Youtube, but when I do watch a clip I fin it is fine.

As far as I am concern, my digital life is better since I switch to this service, which in the end of the day is all that counts.

There were some high pings for a few minutes earlier and browsing was tad slow but it was all over and done with within 30mins ....... again, one could tell who had Mweb coz we all had the same 350 ping at once, lol

I don't seem to have problems. MWEB has been pretty reliable recently. I remember the early days where there were slowdowns on browsing and torrents, but they seem to have ironed out the hiccups and my service seems to run at more than full speed 24/7. I literally get 40K+ per second on a 384K connection.
