Use the OpenDNS settings 208.67.222.222 and 208.67.220.220 (http://www.opendns.com/) or the Google settings 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 (http://code.google.com/speed/public-dns/)

May not be optimal - however I have used the OpenDNS settings for some time and not had any apparent issues.

I've also been having problems with DNS.

Symptoms during a failure
Web browsing stops working: The server at mweb.co.za can't be found because the DNS lookup failed.
VPN into corporate network works ok.
MWEB helpdesk tools report that I'm disconnected (even though the VPN client works)
Problem resolves with a router reboot.

Now using the Opendns which is working.

So I was downloading a torrent file on Afrihost and went just about full speed. Switched to Mweb quickly, and it's struggling to go over 1kb/sec (with 18 seeds). Does Mweb not support torrent dls?

11am should pick up, 1am full speed had my app monitor last night.

before 11am, 50kps avg, 11am, about 150kbs, 1am avg 500kbs.

Well it's 23:44 now, and it's averaging at 3-5kb/sec.. 24 seeds.

yes seems problem in top side of south africa , as im all p2p and usenet is cutoff, happens when seacom is down, seems they routing via cpt maybe at this , though can be wrong.

looking at first graph it seems seacom is down, not sure ,maybe someone got some inside info.

I've just spoken to the SEACOM NOC and they claim the Estimated Time to
Repair (ETR) is 5 hours from now at approximately 12:30pm.
There was no Reason for Outage (RFO) specified.
