MWEB Uncapped Subscribers Feedback

My Gmail seems to be working fine, no problem there, I am just wondering if I am the only one getting slow speeds on the news severs?
Cause I my international downloads seem to be fine, getting at least 334 kbps, but when I check my downloads from the news server, i am getting erratic speeds,
most i go thus far has been about 30kbps, is there something wrong with mweb news servers?

Yes problem with GMail on MWEB. horribly slow and have to refresh a few times to get it to load.

Plz investigate MWEB

Haven't tried on my Axxess account, but thought I'd add to the concern that GMail is definitely terribly slow with MWEB. I get frequent "There is an internet connectivity problem" problem. Google Apps is totally useless here too... Is it MWEB? Maybe, I don't have enough info to make an educated guess.

my gmail loads instant it shows the loading bar for 2 sec then it is in? maybe you guys missing something, im using chrome.

It doesn't happen all the time.. If you are a frequent gMail user I'm sure you will experience the same problems.. Not just by testing once/ a few times.

yeha i onlt use gtalk app, don't use gmail as my main email, though i work at internet cafe with every 2nd user using gmail, and does sometimes take tad few more seconds to load, but not much.

And why not connect gmail to outlook? Works a charm with me.

Just wish the news server would speed up again. Been slow the past 4 days. Runs at around 10kb during the day.

Same here in JHB, any suggestions on OTHER isps? Because this 512k uncapped a/c going @ 20-25kbps is not funny.
End of April I was thinking of upgrading to 4mbit uncapped from Mweb, but I'm having second thoughts now...

There was one of those micro freezes again (I lost connectivity with TS and a site timed out) and when it righted itself, the news server was going half speed again. Someone somewhere is doing something he/she shouldn't and it's messing up the entire system.

Yes, definitely. TENET (Most universities use TENET, if not all? UCT definitely does) peers at CINX (pretty sure) and JINX, as does MWEB... They were one of the first to peer openly with MWEB.

I'd still stick with MWEB, I have been on the following ISP's

Afrihost - Per GB a/c and uncapped
Screamer - closed down
SAINET - uncapped
Etc etc

All a waste of time compared to MWEB even if the news server runs at half speed.

Guys, I want to go for a 386 uncapped account just to check out the speeds and so on, can I only get the account via debit order?

you can phone to get trail account to test out ,phone there sales department.
