All streaming, be it video or sound is terrible. Likewise downloads, I'm getting an average of 70kbps max on across the board.

HI Mephisto_Helix

Please note that I cannot pick up any discrepancies on your line. Please reboot your router for atleast 30min and provide me the relevant feedback.

Kind regards,
Wayde

I was about to move from Openweb to Mweb...Just started with OP...just seems like there is no "good" ISP... All I want is a good provider for DL when I want to and web surfing. Have to say the cost one pays for both ISP and Telkom is insane compared to the service.

I have considered 4mb but you loss to much if its out, and its normall out for a few days, both with the isp and Telkom.

Have been with Mweb since Thursday and i have to say that im not very impressed right now.

Most of the time things are good and fast but since yesterday i have had slow speeds and high latency.

This test to london shows higher than normal latency and very slow download speeds.

Hi

Please provide me your MWEB account details, also what are your actual DL speeds at the moment?

Speeds are extremely poor, and has been since the last day of April.

International

The local speedtest shows "correct" speeds for my line but even local sites take forever to even open. Steam downloads, which are set to download from the MWeb Cape Town server were downloading at 9kb/s??

This is on a 4MB line, sorry to say but this is pathetic, rebooted/reset the router, nothing helps.

Hi
I have also been having problems since about 17:20 today.

I only signed up with Mweb yesterday, after a lot of problems with my old ISP, so far it is not of to a great start...
I am on a 4MB shaped account

I'm also having speed problems. It is now so slow that I cannot even get speedtest.net to load - I've reset the router etc etc.

So now what?

Youtube streaming also buffering ALL the time this end..... poor speeds ! 4MB Uncapped.

Evening All

Thank you for all the information, I have sent this to our network team. We will do some testing in the morning and provide you all the relevant feedback.

Kind regards,
MWEB Guy

/Queue ''Only in South Africa!''

I'm cancelling my account tomorrow. Only been with Mweb for a month and already had so much BS it aint even funny. And here I was thinking WA sucks. Bugger up my line transfer, never getting speeds above 100k/b on my 4meg line yet my prepaid accounts work like they should , Mweb sleeps at night so if something goes wrong, they will only try and fix it the following day, etc etc.

Before I joined Mweb, I seriously thought they were the only company that Naspers owns that doesn't suck. Boy was I wrong! I've had enough.

Yes Mweb Guy it is an Uncapped Shaped account. I understand obviously I am going to get a lot lower ping with unshaped account, but what I am trying to tell you is my ping to that england battleping server with my Mweb Uncapped account USED TO BE 235ms. Its NOW 290-300. Something has happened. I dont know what since I dont work for Mweb. I am just pointing this out as its not fun for me. Paying R99 a gigabyte for unshaped bandwidth every week isnt something I want to do just so I can raid. I used to be able to raid in WoW perfectly with my Mweb Shaped Uncapped account but since the latest problem these are the issues I am having.

Same here.

Last 4-5 days have been a nightmare for streaming. Have given up on Youtube and the like and am instead using my Cell C work whoosh stick as a backup, which is instant.

My Afrihost prepaid is also fine.

Come on MWeb - sort this one out please.

It's across the board here ..... what is up that you guys won't tell us? Something is obviously broken but everyone is all "We don't have any issues".

- MWEB

- AH

I thought ok, my line is busted ...... but then I used a local only saix account and got full line speed. So please, look into what is broken and please fix it.

*Edit - To add, having half line speed is fine by me, my stuff still gets done but this quarter line speed since last night is just not on. Likewise not being able to stream stuff.

Any idea if Mweb will be charging the same price as the old 512kb uncapped accounts, for the 1mb ones now? Or will the 512kb one just be removed?
