No idea what we can learn from this ... ;)

Again can't even stream youtube on my 4m account, it buffers every 2 secs.

hmm.

I can actually connect to Astraweb using SSL. The first time in 2 weeks and my http is downloading at 150kb (first time I have seen that speed in a while).. correction.. I have full line speed with international http now.

I am monitoring my line to see if this holds up..

My astraweb connection is unstable.. but it actually connects. Speed not great

Is it safe to say that all news servers are now shaped to death? I'm getting 5 - 10k MAX on a 1MB line.

Im getting about the same on my 4mb line at the moment. I sent in my cancellation form this morning via email and fax - still waiting for mweb to respond.

If you use SSL, you are bypassing MWEB's rules and your acccount can be cancelled.

But... this is a good example of the problem being MWEB's side and they deny it!

With SSL, works.
Without SSL, doesn't work.

So whats the problem?

still waiting for a reponse from them.
Guess their cancellations department is working overtime

Look, I don't mind getting shaped, but the speeds are a joke at the moment. Don't shape my normal connection, period.

You may connect using ssl using Mweb. They shape those ports for news server downloads.. I am currently getting about 10kb a second from astraweb and 50kb from local mweb news. The local mweb news is not SSL, only astraweb

G-Mail Problems

So, I've got a problem with G-Mail when using my MWEB account. Labs was disabled, Plain HTML was tried, cleared browser cache and cookies. Reset router for 30 minutes; called Telkom to recreate ports. Its still loading intermittently. I think this tracert is hideous:

MwebGuy, having a browsing problem during the day, we upgraded to the 4mb uncapped package from 384 yet we are having more issues now than ever, what can i test to determine what the problem is?

It seems like the connection doesnt drop but there is no data being sent or received, and then it bursts again (after hitting F5 numerous times)

The sites being visited as an example is www.corobrik.co.za
