MWEB Uncapped Subscribers Feedback

Oooooh yes they will.... Had series of PM's with MWEB-guy, and in the end he did not really know if all http traffic on Easynews was treated as NNTP or not.
He could not tell if they were shaping or not. Currently I get between 3 and 7 kb/s from Easynews, as opposed to 50-150 from file storage sites.

Bottom line. The help here does not really help.

Fair enough, but maybe we should just accept that we got throttled for the month???? My torrents are like crawling at 15KB/s too. Seems like Mweb decided to shape people more when going over a certain amount of Gigs per month now

Therefore MWEB uncapped shaped != Telkom capped unshaped?
Point being it was 12 am and never has shaping being that bad, could barely stay connected to filesonic also tried at 2am, granted my experience is usually better, seems like I'm getting higher speeds at 10:30 am on file storage sites so hopefully it was just a glitch.

Steam downloads are completely random and seem to be shaped as well. Just downloaded three games from steam took two days to download 1.6 gig.
Seriously something is wrong considering I can do a 1.6 gig torrent in just under 24 hours :wtf:

Ja, Had the same problem, and even downloading the latest batch of Windows Updates took forever. I wish someone would actually own up and admit there is a issue with the network, or admit there is a capacity problem. I now have an issue with Windows Live Messenger, continual connection problems, cannot log onto Hotmail, sorry but this is poor service.

Dear Mweb Guy

I have lodged a complaint with corporate office this morning. It seems the only way to go as a Business Customer this is beyond understanding.

Thanks for NO SERVICE.

Mweb Guy and Will@mweb,

I think its time Mweb comes clean to what's going on with the p2p, NNTP traffic and gaming.

Lately there has been more negative feedback regarding the product then good. Too many people complain about the same problems.

I have tried with 3 different uncapped accounts, and each of them are doing exactly the same as the other.

NNTP is dead, getting max 2kb/s on international usenet servers, as well as to the local Mweb server. I have test on all the normal ports 119, even on SSL port 8080 or 443. Nothing...

Yes, I understand p2p and NNTP has the lowest priority on the list, but I could recall a time, where in the day on normal port 119, a person would get around 20-30kb on a 4mb line, and in the evens around 9pm full speed till the morning 6am. And on most weekends full speed too.

What has change? Why not tell us, this way you would avoid people trying to bypass the shaping protocols all the time.

Play open cards with your clients, doing this people will have a better understanding to whats going on.

If there truth came out, i think Mweb would probably lose a lot of clients, but by keeping quiet they are doing the same. Odd way to run a business.

By remaining quiet they can still keep some hope alive in some of their customers. If they come out and say that 2kb/s 24 hours a day is what we can expect to get now they will lose all their customers.

Personally I'm not going to be played like a fool anymore. Come August I will be on a new ISP.

I've downloaded 9GB since 12 AM... so not complaining but NNTP to international paid and MWEB just died at 0KB/S; not timing out... just no traffic.

Done about the same amount of traffic so can't complain either. So far its been great over the past few days.

Hambone

Im having the exact opposite to you. My torrents arnt moving but my News Servers are going at a decent speed.
