My partner on the other pc is also having the same problems, except he can't watch anything on youtube as its just buffering and not moving. I've resorted to rebooting the router which helped for all of 2 minutes and the problem carries on!....

Torrents I had to stop, it was only going at about 40Kbs anyway..., and even stopping those made little difference...

Mweb is definately not what it used to be - sorry to say, and its damn difficult to be nice when you pay for a a 4 meg service that was great at first and is pretty pathetic for the last 4 - 6 months....

Mweb reps - same here.

In sunninghill JHB and cannot even access gmail tonight.

Have changed accounts just to post this message - what's wrong this evening ?
 
High latency

Hi

My base latency is extremely high since this afternoon, around 240ms. Couldn't even open google for a while. Using 384kbps uncapped

Please PM me your Mweb account details and I will look into it for you. Is it just with browsing that you are getting this high latency?

this is clearly an overall problem - not just me... I've tested my SAOL account - flying on torrents, and browsing is fast even with those torrents running... but if I do the same on mweb, the torrents drag dog slow, and http you have to constantly refresh to get anywhere even on local! But if you stop the torrents, then you can browse... - anyway, Will do the Telkom thing as suggested...

Mweb limits the number of connections (to something like 100) so you need to make sure you limit the number of concurrent peers in p2p clients to less than that otherwise it kills your internet.

Hi avert,

Have you tested your connection on another router to see if you will get disconnected so often? Have you tested with another ISP account? What I could advise is contacting Telkom and ask them to re-create your port to see if your connection becomes stable.

well then If that's true, then I see no other choice than cancelling. I well seeded torrent and its running at 20 - 70kbs.. mostly at 30kbs. I used to get 300 - 400kbs - NOT BLOODY GOOD ENOUGH! I've spent the past hour and a half refreshing constantly... I've sent tracert's to MWebguy that looks Fantastic fast - but what I'm getting is so vastly different that all I can call it is S#1T. Infact I can't view photo's on facebook without refrehing constantly. can't load the bloody speedtest.net website, it won't load... loads halfway and times out. Trying to get onto MyBB is just as difficult - that same article on Mybb about the homemade ipad 3 just won't play!, with each refresh sometimes the video window won't even appear!...................

I never had it this bad before, I don't see why I should put up with it now. I think I'm going to switch to my SAOL account for now as I can't do this any longer. Mwebguy, thanks for your help, but my patients is far to short for this cr@p.
 
It takes me over a minute to load this page, I'm getting 700+ ping League of Legends and my NNTP is at 10KB/s.
 
what happened ?????

My astraweb has suddenly droped to 10k a second from 130k ????

is something down?


Edit: Even local Mweb news is 10k a second... somethings really wrong ??

IPC issue again ... Mweb Guy ??????????
