mweb, i am having connection issues. I have done everything you have asked so far, but it does not seem to work. who must i pm to check out my account?

Is there a problem with your network, MWeb? I connect at 2752 kbps on an 4meg account.

Hi 3GisDaMan,

If your 4MB line is only syncs at a certain speed it could possibly be that Telkom set it on that because your line is not stable on 4MB after you been logging many line faults or there could be some other reason.

If your line is with us we will only drop the speed on your request.

Only got my abuse letter after two months of having guests staying with me and found that we had done 600GB each month.

This would be a result of HOW the connection was used during those months (and possibly previously too) rather than the amount downloaded.

Don't worry about it, I only got the letter once and that was during my sisters wedding when I had a load of guests all with laptops, Ipads and the rest using up as much data as possible. Everything has been fine since but thanks for the response.
 
I did 150GB last month in about 18 days.

Does that include uploads? Otherwise those are some seriously good numbers, seeing the approximate maximum for a 1Mbit line is about 9gig/day and you were doing 8gig/day.

I may have to start spending less on internet soon, this sounds like a pretty good deal.

Yes, but I do little uploading. Was mainly streaming live gaming, and downloading Linux iso's via News servers (where one gets best speeds). Linux iso's via torrent were good for the first few days, then dropped to ±1 - 5KBps when there were network problems which have since been resolved and I now get 50 - 110KBps any time of day.

The account does run on a 10Mbit line, which sometimes gives me faster-than-1Mbit speeds. :)

All in all I rate the service and value 10/10.
 
Hi MWEB Guy - have sent you a PM. Have a client with a 4MB Uncapped account that gets 400-700ms pings to www.mweb.co.za, downloads anywhere from 0.2-0.7mbps, where it should be around 3.5... Would appreciate some feedback / assistance.

Well considering a 4MB package only gets 300-400GB per month this might be FAR better value for money...

Precisely.

I have Do3 from Telkom (about R599 a month for 10Mbit + 9GB (20GB caps are being trialled at the moment though)), so when I need 10Mbit I just switch accounts. Router is in half bridge mode with all PC's and mobile devices connecting via MWEB. Then when on PC if I need the speed I dial up to Telkom Internet.
 
News server appears to be busted ...... it's just not connecting at all.

*Edit - it's back ... must have been on a breakfast break for the last hour.

I see late at night my pings to google is about 300-700ms but now it's like 200ms. My line also drops at night

no my home/basic account. Also Telkom was at my house today and they told me everything is fine. i contacted business premier and they told me it's my line and Telkom telling me it's not my line
