Oh I had to take two days compulsory leave this month and it was raining... meaning using my Uncapped account during the day and till late at night...

At work we have an Ubuntu server which dials up a ppp0 session over Mweb Uncapped and shares it for the network with iptables/masquerading/ipv4 forwarding. Everything was working great until recently when any clients connecting through the gateway can't access certain services anymore such as https://signup.live.com/, as it times out. Also all our incoming E-mail has stopped working. Using pop3.mweb.net - when sending and receiving, it times out while receiving, and Outlook status gets stuck at "Receiving message 1 of 4 (958 B of 224 KB)". A tiny e-mail, but it completely times out after transferring a few bytes. The strange thing is I can access those resources okay from the server itself, but as soon as another PC tries to use it as a gateway, some services are timing out. Anyone experiencing a similar issue, or know what would cause this?

Is that on a Business account?

Yeah. Just fixed the problem though, phew :) The pppoe session MTU was wrong (no iptable MSS clamping script). Spent days trying to fix this, then a few minutes after bringing the issue up on here wondering if its Mweb related, I manage to fix it xD Oh well :)

Thanks for sharing, I just got an HDTV and have been using it quite a bit more than normal for HD stuff & hit 165 gigs for this month and was a bit worried I would hit their unknown abuse level. It would be nice if it was clearer of what they define as abuse (and I don't mean what is says in the T&C's, that's not clear). I don't use any secure ports, just usenet and torrents limited to 2mb total on a 4mb line.

MWeb dont have abuse levels.. my usage is between 200 to 300 Gig every month every since I started with uncapped way back in March 2010 and I never had an abuse letter.

Its not about how much you download, but how you download. I dont break the shaping rules and or use a VPN.

Only got my abuse letter after two months of having guests staying with me and found that we had done 600GB each month.
