Yay speeds back to normal!

Celebrate fast internet whooo

Been getting great speeds downloading over HTTP on this uncapped package - had it since Friday and I must say I am very very impressed.
I have been having one problem though:
I download mostly over http, and every now and then the net just seems to die - the line doesn't drop or lose synch at all(I checked this), and according to the router I still have an IP - but when I do get access again around 2 mins later my downloads from RS etc. have timed out and cannot be resumed.

I was wondering if anyone else has the same issue, with the line staying synched but internet dropping for a few mins then coming back up?

have similar issue of MAX HTTP speeds, then the line drops...i lose my connection.

telkom was here to test my line and modem, they say its fine.

at least twice a day i have to turn my router on and off to resume my connection.

I love you MWeb, just signed up and sure downloads aren't going 400KBps but plenty fast enough and no more worrying about running out of cap and no more scheduling downloads for 1am... BOOOYYYAA!!

It appears I have the same issue, although it takes about 5 minutes then it sorts its self out. However it is extremely strange though

Just speculating, but didn't the MWeb representative say that could be caused by an incorrect MTU setting in your router?

@killermax
I also have the same issue, I have the telkom netgear router, do check your mtu 1492 I think
Also, create PPPoE connection from your pc, so if that connection dies, its not your router but your line or isp.

I have been using MWeb for less than a day now and I remember someone mentioning that their streaming movies keep getting cut short for some reason. I am having this problem with Zero Punctuation, seems to get into the review and just arbitrarily cuts me off. Was there a solution for this???

My line doesn't drop, the net just goes dead...
After a while it comes back.
The MTU is set to 1492, is this the correct value?

guys, i just did a reset of my router and now none of my Download Managers work.
my internet died AGAIN today...my http were going at 1/4 speed.

download managers keep saying i have lost my internet connection but i'm able to surf local and international sites at normal speed, any thoughts ?

All access (local and international) is very laggy at the moment, coming in intermittent bursts. I was getting pings of 25ms and then 600ms to www.dstv.co.za. DNS seems to be particularly slow.

Edit: Acutally, it seems more like the 'dead' connection issue -- absolutely zero throughput on anything for a few minutes, then it all springs back to life:

Code:
$ ping www.dstv.co.za
ping: unknown host www.dstv.co.za
.
.
.
$ ping www.dstv.co.za
PING www.dstv.co.za (196.28.65.142) 56(84) bytes of data.
64 bytes from 196.28.65.142: icmp_seq=1 ttl=56 time=29.4 ms
64 bytes from 196.28.65.142: icmp_seq=3 ttl=56 time=36.3 ms
64 bytes from [B]CL2www2.m-net.co.za[/B] (196.28.65.142): icmp_seq=4 ttl=56 time=32.9 ms

Seems to be much more stable now, after that last choke. *holds thumbs*

Web pages are taking a long time to start loading, but when they do start, they complete quickly. Is there some lookup issue at the moment?

And what was the cause? More importantly, what was the solution?
