Yay speeds back to normal!
Celebrate fast internet whooo
While I concede that may be true I think its more MWEB and their throttling policies related..It's largely demand related IMO, and until 9.30am (Sun 16th) things were very quiet. The JINX graph is a good proxy for SA traffic (AFAIK), and anything under 50% of average (1Gbps) makes for good user experience:

I have to add that I would hope people would be seeing these speeds at 9am on a Sunday morning! No excuse for shaping at that time.
Cancel go with afrihost perhaps lance. You only want 30gb so it should work better for you perhaps.
Been getting great speeds downloading over HTTP on this uncapped package - had it since Friday and I must say I am very very impressed.
I have been having one problem though:
I download mostly over http, and every now and then the net just seems to die - the line doesn't drop or lose synch at all(I checked this), and according to the router I still have an IP - but when I do get access again around 2 mins later my downloads from RS etc. have timed out and cannot be resumed.
I was wondering if anyone else has the same issue, with the line staying synched but internet dropping for a few mins then coming back up?
have similar issue of MAX HTTP speeds, then the line drops...i lose my connection.
telkom was here to test my line and modem, they say its fine.
at least twice a day i have to turn my router on and off to resume my connection.

After a while it comes back.
The MTU is set to 1492, is this the correct value?
