I signed up the same day Mweb launched the uncapped.. Then yesterday they gave me R299 credit cause I was one of the 1000 people. Why?

Yep but in another post trial users have tried to upgrade but keeping getting told they cant cause its a "demo"
You dont demo off a ferarri by going 40km/h now do you :P
 
i would rather pay the difference of the full cost,

these 512 speed are unbearable after the speeds of yesterday.

do they charge pro rata if i sign up tomorrow ?

People should have gotten the account first and asked for a credit. I did and billing department didn't even ask any questions.

I ask them for the credit. She asked for my username. She checked and said that I indeed received the email. So she asked hold. When you came back said the manager has credited my account with R299.

No questions asked.

Yes it would be less than R100 I think.
 
I cant handle these 512k speeds aswell. Infact it still feels shaped, im only getting 19kbs on HTTP and usenet downloads on the trial account.
Some one needs to get hold of tech/sales for the trial guys early tomorrow and get it cleared, im at work till 3pm so i cant.
Personally im not convinced yet with all these uncapped offerings, can the level of quality be kept for the months to come.
Telkom uncapped.... over lovely fast Sat 3, yes plese :)
 
i wonder if mweb is worth switching over from afrihost and paying the extra R40.

if they wont give me the discount, i might as well stick with afrihost, with what i know..

Strange. I'm getting full speed. It was like 150kbs until about 08:52pm. But its been flying since then. I'm quite happy with the account. Even with the shaping. Its been getting faster since the launch. I think they are still fine tuning the shaping.

I will stay with Mweb for now. Until I see what Telkom pulls out the hat.
 
Yep i must agree no issues my side, and when i did have a problem authenticating earlier this week, they where very quick to admit it was an issue on there side. and not give me "Oh its your line log a fault with telkom".
 
Sandman what where are u getting those speeds from? Torrent/local/paid usenet?
 
Im also getting 180kb/s. This speed is fine for work hours, but it should be going full speed now :(

Torrents and Rapidshare premium account yes. If I pull files from Meguaload they run at 400+kBps so it's throttling specific http protocols...
 
@sandman:LOL dude hahah throttling specific http protocols lol ok so what rapidshare is a new http procotol. HTTP runs on port 80. Simple as that. Did it perhaps occur to you that the network is extremely busy or congested?:) instead of quickly jumping to conclusions they are shaping the **** out of p2p ? Because well lets see im downloading on my line and its maxed out. Torrent only.
