All access (local and international) is very laggy at the moment, coming in intermittent bursts. I was getting pings of 25ms and then 600ms to
www.dstv.co.za. DNS seems to be particularly slow.
Edit: Acutally, it seems more like the 'dead' connection issue -- absolutely zero throughput on anything for a few minutes, then it all springs back to life:
Code:
$ ping www.dstv.co.za
ping: unknown host www.dstv.co.za
.
.
.
$ ping www.dstv.co.za
PING www.dstv.co.za (196.28.65.142) 56(84) bytes of data.
64 bytes from 196.28.65.142: icmp_seq=1 ttl=56 time=29.4 ms
64 bytes from 196.28.65.142: icmp_seq=3 ttl=56 time=36.3 ms
64 bytes from [B]CL2www2.m-net.co.za[/B] (196.28.65.142): icmp_seq=4 ttl=56 time=32.9 ms
Seems to be much more stable now, after that last choke. *holds thumbs*
Web pages are taking a long time to
start loading, but when they do start, they complete quickly. Is there some lookup issue at the moment?
