Why do you need his details? If you just simply bothered to try open the URL in the post you would see that it doesn't work.

So much for initiative ...

And if you simply looked a few pages back you would see it opens fine for him, and on my mweb account it loads fine aswell.

Like you see any other ISP on this forum actually trying to help their users. Your remark was uncalled for!

PS link opens fine for me as well.

You heard of troubleshooting the clients local access point? Don't jump to conclusions, will tire you out.

Aggg tonight Youtube and websites are so slow (again) but downloading on HTTP is fine. Good grief this is strange.

Hahaha not only did he say it works fine for him but each node in the system is unique, what works one way for one can work completely differently for the other.

So downloading via HTTP tonight I can get up to 340KB/s (nice) but if I stop all downloads and want to watch an online stream (or general surfing) it is pathetic. Anyone else have this?

SMTP Improvements?

At this risk of giving MWeb a compliment again  I have noticed a dramatic improvement in performance when sending email. Previously, even a short email would take a long time to send. Now it's instant.

Joined on the week-end so still new to M-Web(4mb uncapped for home use)
Anyone care to give some input on what speeds should I be getting this time of night on newservers?Currently getting 85KB/s.

Thks

SLOW AS A SNAIL

Hey Mr. Mweb,

I've been calling Mweb a bunch of times over the past two days for help with my EXTREMELY slow connection. I have called about ten times and not once have they been able to help; they tried recreating the port on my line 3 times; I have had to reset my router 11 times and I have had to restart my router about 20 times. They then said that they would get someone from the secondary technical department to contact me at 17:00; they ended up calling me at 20:30. With about 45 minutes of troubleshooting during that call I was asked to change my MTU from 1495 to 1492, reset my router yet again and they also gave me a few different Mweb usernames that I could use, but that didn't help.A lot was done and they managed to restore my speed to about 15kb/s (I'm on a 384kbps line) from a speed of 6kb/s. Today my speed is back down and is staying at around 3kb/s, it goes as low as 200bps and that is USELESS. Please can you help me work this most irritating problem out.
The strange thing is that as soon as my line was migrated to Mweb I started having these slow speeds, but while it was with Telkom it was fine.

I also have another problem, I have been waiting since March for Mweb to upgrade my line to 4Mbps. I followed up weekly about the status of my order and they said they are still waiting for Telkom to give them a 'thumbs-up' so that they could bump my line up to 4Mbps and. Then when that excuse wasn't working anymore they decided to tell me that there aren't any ports available in my area, which is absolute rubbish as I already have a 384 line that was working fine. At the end of May, yes 2 MONTHS down the line, I was told that there isn't a 4Mbps line in my area and therefore cannot get a 4Mbps account. IT TOOK THEM 2 MONTHS TO FIGURE THAT OUT. I then asked what the fastest speed I COULD get in my area and they told that it was 1Mbps, I said that was fine and I then ordered that, but I still do not have a 1Mbps connection, instead I still seem to have 384 and an EXTREMELY slow speed at that i.e. 3Kb/s

There is a lot wrong and I AM FED UP, please could someone fix this rubbish now!!
Please Mr.Mweb sort this out

This is not the first mail I received...blizzard has sent numerous emails to verify details and so forth.
I do not have an account with any of the mails I received...

I did report it to the relevant parties and this is there feedback:

Dear XXXX

Thank you for your e-mail.

With regards to the amount of spam you received, our mail abuse department will require copies of the full headers to enable the matter to be investigated and action to be taken where possible.

The reason they request the message headers is to :

-review the RETURN PATH and FROM email address fields
-review the originating IP address and full path of the e-mail

This would allow them to :

-block the appropriate e-mail address (or advise accordingly)
-report the incident to the originating network for action

*Without the headers no further action can be taken.

***If there is a difference between the domain in the FROM field and the RETURN PATH, then the Return Path would be most effective in blocking the spam.

The internet or message headers can then be copied and pasted into a new email message to [email protected]. I have included instructions for retrieving these headers below.

To view and copy message headers in Microsoft Outlook:

1) Right click on the email and select Options
2) Next to the Section called Internet Headers, Right click on the text and click on Select All
3) With all text selected, right click on text and click Copy
4) Create a new email
5) Right click inside the email and select paste

To view and copy message headers in Outlook express:

1) Right Click on the email and select properties
2) Click on the Details tab at the top of the window
3) Under the heading Internet headers for this message, Right click on the text and click on Select All
4) With all text selected, right click on text and click Copy
5) Create a new email
6) Right Click inside the email and select paste.

Please contact us should you require any further technical assistance.

Kind Regards

Very helpful if using Outlook, What can be done on the MWEB Message Centre...do I have to set up my mail on Outlook to assist you?
