Sorry, had a noob moment. My brother was maxing the upload speed on a large torrent.
Edited my original post, thanks for the prompt response though

No problem Zombrainy and thanks for the update

For the last few days I've been getting terrible latency, especially during the day... can't say I've really noticed it at night but I could be wrong...

4mbps uncapped

Why is my latency 215ms on a 4mbps line?? And yet I have such high download and upload speeds..

Speeds

4Meg line
Bigtime Broadband Uncapped 4096 kbps

HTTP downloads avg 300+ kbps using IDM
P2P avg after 12pm 150kB/s + on 1 well seeded torrent
P2P avg before 12pm 40+ kB/s (shaping protocols)

used 110.21 GB so far this month.
Last Session: 07 September, 2010, 00:41:06

No complaints so far, just unhappy our line can not be upgraded to 10mbps

Hi MWEB Ops:
Have a look at this
1. Screenshot of download of a wmv video from an NGO website on Autism (I am using a download manager)
2. Screenshot of Ubuntu download of codecs (this is on the http site hosted locally)

You say 1 is an NGO site. The one with slow speed. Even having moved from Mweb I woudl initially place the problem on the provider there. It's important to know your source as well. Perhaps PM the link to a friend you trust (who is not on Mweb).

That's not bad at all.

So begins the third month of awesome internets.

"You have used 19.38 GB so far this month. "

Only 67 GB last month though, and 118 the previous one.

So far, I'm loving this "Free the internet" thing that MWEB's gotten up to :)

err Mweb it past 6pm, why is daytime shaping still on I am only get 10k from AstroWeb.

I normally get around 60k this time of the day

Sorry Kosmik, we thought your packets needed a holiday :p

We lost a national link late this afternoon so local traffic is currently taking the scenic route. Techs are attending and hopefully the ETR won't be too much longer. There is a notice up on our network status page, however it should have been posted on here as well - apologies for the oversight.
