Router stats - cool
Speedtest - cool
Download speed on newservers - seriously uncool!

Getting 5KB/s on newservers now and last 2 evenings it doesnt even get above 50 KB/s.
Can anyone shed some light on what is going on?I know users are being moved off SAIX and back onto MWEB but even so,that surely can't explain why the speeds are so bad.The MWEB call centre guys dont seem to have any answers either.

SAIX is down, they going through some international network. According to MWEB Tech dude.
He had no clue why my news.mweb.co.za was pinging to a SAIX network.

But why now so suddenly? And nothing from Mweb before or after about any new shaping? And I find it suspicious that it starts IMMEDIATELY after the outage on the 21st. Was getting bad speeds that night after it was back, but nice speeds up until the last second before it died.

SAIX is down? I havnt heard about that and I work at an ISP... I will have to look up on that...

EDIT: Looks like Telkom internet runs through SAIX (or am I mistaken?), and my Telkom line is absolutely perfect atm.

That was 2 nights ago. Don't know if the tech guy knew what he was n about because he repeated alot of what i was telling him.

Wait, so when there was the outage he said SAIX was down? Still doesnt make sense, if Telkom internet runs through SAIX... my Telkom was working perfectly when Mweb was down the other night. So you must be right, he didnt know what he was on about.

Could you please give me some indication about what is going on with news server acces? I am still at best only getting download speeds of between 2kB/s and 8kB/s on a 512 package. I get these speeds with both username formats: @dslmweb and @mweb. Is there an issue currently which will be resolved, or are these speeds indicative of new shaping protocols?

Some clarity would be much appreciated.

Hi MFour

We are moving our customers off the SAIX Wholesale network back onto our own network as part of our upgrades. The last of those migrations will happen on Monday next week and the upgrades should all be done by the 1st week of October.

I seem to have spoke to soon.

Can't connect anymore - connection closed gracefully is the reply i get now. Oh yay. :(

Torrent speeds not going above about 3Kb/s atm. I can see a small spike to (max) 8Kb/s every now and again but thats it. When I do DDL it goes nicely tho... Will just have to wait until either Monday or when the upgrades finished and then see I suppose...

Although I do see that it does go nicely for a few minutes every now and again. but then seems to go back down to the above.

@Mweb, why can I not remove the lock you put on your ADSL accounts so they only work from one phone number? When was this put into place? I didn't see any of this crap when I signed up and I am not in the mood to call your support when I have to log into my ADSL account from various location every single time to make it work.
