I noticed the new trends for shaping seem to be after 4am it goes unshaped for p2p.
Keep your torrents running overnight and check on them in the morning.
You'll be able to get about 2 or 3 gigs in those 3 hours of semi unshaped from 4am til 7am.
Though, still for 3 hours of the day to only have half speed (180kb/s) is kinda rediculous.

Right now p2p stuck at 24k down, 40k up.
Kind funny but my seeding ratio's have never quite been so healthy. LOL

Average seed ratio is up 1.2 per dl. LOL. ADSL Fail.
 
Once again local pings are abnormally high to the point of not being playable. Not to mention, a game client update running at 20kb/s

Not so sure about that. All my downloads only happen at night from news.mweb.co.za, and since 1st Oct I'm getting an average speed of 20Kps - this morning 3 episodes are still coming down. Compared to the avg of 400Kps from last month, this is really frustrating.
 
What I don't understant is why Mweb is not boosting its own newsserver? Surely it is cheaper to have your user using that compared to the international bandwidth otherwise consumed?
 
i don't think i can manage till the weekend ! believe it or not my speeds have actually got worse ! from 1.2kbps i'm now getting 0 thats right zero ! with good seeds i might add :( this account is useless untill they upgrade their network it seems :(

Afrihost prepaid? Was fast when i used it. Not to sure about now, i am thinking of doing the same thing to get one of my torrents finished.

For the past week it was running nicely even in the evening I was getting relatively low pings. Now it's useless.

Surely this is a viable option? Run a caching server - disk space is dirt cheap and you will save a ton in international bandwidth?

Would love to know if Mweb have thought about this. They should have stats on how much international nntp traffic they're doing - wouldnt it be cost effective to rather host a massive nntp server locally.

This is not my line's problem either. Just bought an Afrihost 1gig prepaid and my ping is like 250 which is BRILLIANT.
 
Well i have a 512 kbps unshaped uncapped MWEB line and i am getting speeds from 62 kb/s to about 93 kb/s all day?
 
Mine is also terrible, given up on youtube and just general browsing is frustrating the hell out of me.
