For sure, you know what I think the best solution would be? MWEB would probably agree, a VIP such as yourself should actually be using an internet addict account. You can't expect to have full speed on an average everyday account. Anyway something as Oron is dark ages technology, use something more modern, such as torrents instead.
 
Rouxenator, as Lino said, maybe the Internet Addict account is better suited to your needs?

True, but you know I had enough of that mere mortal nonsense now. Hence forth I am proclaiming myself to be VIP and therefore I want better everything for nothing extra except the fact that I am VIP. Makes sense from where I stand :cool:

Agh come now, don't be jealous because I had the idea first. Not everyone can be as VIP as I am so its only fair that I come up with this Brilliant Scheme.

Very true, but instead of getting internet addict I'm gonna stick with the el-cheapo account I have and just moan a bit so that they raise the speed at which they throttle. When I do need unshaped service I will ask them to kindly provide it to me. (at not extra cost ofcource, I am VIP afterall).

Oron sure is very dark ages if you compare it with other fileshare services, but at least its not as retarded as news servers :whistle:

Question do you actually believe the garbage that you spew? You must actually be quite a sad individual if your life revolves around getting responses on an internet forum.

If you using a cheap account then don't complain, you have issues or not happy then move to another ISP.

Note sure I will find another ISP that offers me the same overall package as Mweb does. Although I have been toying with the idea of having another account for use during the day.
xrapidx, what ISP are you moving to? How is their daytime performance of high usage services like Oron. Rapidshare, Torrents and the like?

About the so called garbage I spew - you'd be surprised the level of service you and treatment you can get if you act like a VIP. I'm not saying go overboard but a little VIP attitude goes a long way.

Seriously though - I think its a good suggestion to up the speed limit from 10kb/s to 40kb/s. I'm not saying abandon it all together, this is not internet addict accounts after all, but throttling to 10% seems a lot more acceptable that 2.5%
 
Not sure - probably just Afrihosts free 1GB next month :) December I'm not planning on using the next much.

Then in Jan, Openweb gold or After-hours thing.... see how it goes, if that doesn't work - I'll move to a 50GB capped product... doubt I'll need more than that a month anyway.
 
I need about 300 to 500 GB a month so I'll stick with M-Web. If the Openweb Gold thing works well for you send me a postcard cause I might consider it then :cool:
 
Myself, I have gotten everything i wanted. Wont be downloading much till end Jan mayby.
The rest of the stuff I could only get on torrents at 250MB per 24h and not nntp a friend is posting to me ;), spares me waiting 3 months for 20GB.
 
I should mention that it seems the MWeb caching servers have cached a corrupt version of Minecraft.

I was only able to play the game after I switched to my Telkom account. After some further hunting, I found this a common problem with MWeb users (where a corrupt copy of minecraft.jar is downloaded)

This i s indeed the case as Minecraft breaks after each patch and i have to redownload it via Afrihost....

Please be aware that there may be some degradation of service on international traffic as one of our Seacom links has gone down. Seacom are investigating and we'll update our network notices accordingly once we have an ETR.

INT and Local is slow for me at the moment.having trouble just browsing.
