Don't go near torrents, i keep saying it..........

I was getting over 20kb for like a few minutesearlier though :D for a while, then back to :(

Hi fbman

This is a shaped service. Priority is given to normal web browsing, email, online banking and social netwOperations orking type services. Shaping rules are however applied differently to the uncapped products.

Kind regards
MWEB Operations

My understanding was that capped accounts are unshaped?

One example - well seeded torrent running at 3.2kbs atm.

With all due respect I think some of you need to re-evaluate your definition of well seeded. Testing of a well seeded torrent on our 384k test account now gave speeds of around 20KB/s, which is very decent for mid morning.

I'm in CT and getting nasty packet loss and timeouts on the SAT-3 international traffic (10.30am).

Hi Gordon

Are you only encountering problems with international traffic and which sites are you having trouble with.

Please also provide me the relevant ping and trace route results; please PM me your MWEB account details and the requested information and I will investigate this further.

Regards,
MWEB Operations

Not aware of any issues Gordon, but I'll look into this immediately.

@MWEB: Its just international, local is fine. I've got two ping tests running side by side atm, one local and one international. Something definitely broke +-15 mins ago (Cape Town). Sudden major packet loss on international.

And there we go, while I'm busy typing this international fell over completely =)

I just posted a tracert (above). The problem is at the London end (intenational peering).

P.S. I know how to run diagnostics on multiple sites, and Blackhand just confirmed the same.

BTW:That generic PM request is highly patronising IMO...

PPS. MWeb is busy (trying to) switching international routing for CT users from SAT-3 to Jhb-SEACOM. I'm getting really 'brain-dead' routing via JINX and TENET...

My international is going down again now as well..

Been going up and down whole morning, and lagging like hell.

PTA east.

There is definitely a big problem. Was jamming wow now, lag went up to 5000ms and then Dc'd. Cannot reconnect atm.

Same here, Cape Town. It feels like half of the international is down though. Some sites work where others do not.

Our engineers picked up some issues on one of the London peering links and have rerouted traffic temporarily while they address the issue. It should settle down again shortly, please let me know if you are still having problems.

My international access just went down in the middle of a game most annoying!!! Please fix.

The ONE day I have off, the ONE day I can sit and play WoW my net dies.

Where are you re-routing it through? A dead horse's arse?
