near instant if you have adsl line.

i had to order adsl line also, was total 2 weeks to activate my line to dsl, but just buying account should be in a days time.

Is it just me or is Mweb in cape Town a little unstable.

I seem to lose sync every few hours today..The speeds are better for the week.

Having endless problems trying to use uk hosted sites, like bbc.co.uk etc..... Anyone else with similar issues?

Regarding caching of broken files, I have to agree, some of the podcasts that I listen to regularly simply would not download completely, and it's a podcast, released the previous few hours and downloaded, the podcasts then gets stuck on 2 mb out of 26 mb for example and does not want to download further, I then have to use Vodacom 3G connection to download the rest of the file, 3G works perfectly, Mweb not so much.

how do you down load then ? curious as the ones i've done through itunes and my iphone IV (both pc and phone through mweb of course) so far was ok, i do them daily.

could you maybe provide an example file so we can also test it ?

As long as those podcasts are family safe I suggest you take Will@Mweb up on his offer to fix it for you.

If they can't fix the cache server then they should give us an email address or website where we can submit the file names of broken files so that it will be automatically purged from the cache.
Very sad that you still need a backup connection like Vodacom if you use Mweb as your main connection. Don't get me wrong, Mweb is brilliant, but there is always something small wrong with it.

quite a difference between porn and porn. if you watch s&m like you do, you just as well might be going about daily child molesting as it's on the same level. why not throw in a horse or two while you are at it, right ?

I use iTunes to download the podcasts.

That is pathetic Mweb for you, I just started it at home, came in at 256kb/s for the first 3 seconds and then stopped .

URL : http://www.podtrac.com/pts/redirect.mp3/pixelcorps.cachefly.net/twip/twip_182_aud.mp3
Expected file size : 28.3 MB (29,580,544 grepe)
Cached file size : 750 kB (767,664 grepe)

Come on Will@Mweb, here is your chance to fix a file that is pure and white snow.

EDIT : if you use a Download Manager (like Free Download Manager) then it will download to 98%. But many filehosts do not support download manager with their multiple segment download features so download managers are NOT the answer.

firefox, no dl manager, if use dl manager i use free download manager, but in this case i did not use it

OK, I'll add it in FF now and see what it does. FDM got stuck on 98% and the segment is is struggling with is at the start of the file.

Mess with the best .....

is that you Zero Cool ?

stop using *** fs services. most fs i used you could subscribe and are allowed to use an idm with multiple segments. btw, last time i did test one of your links and it worked...

:edit

mine is past 750kb, still going on...

maybe fault on your side...

mr ZeroCool disagrees :D
