seriously, you telling me that if i have a problem with a product, but it's already been noted as faulty in the public domain and the company in question knows i have a problem, i still have to go and make posts and threads about it ?

seriously don't understand your logic. mweb has noted there is a fault, mweb has said they will fix it and yet you need to get everyone in to post they have a problem because of that problem ? unproductive ?

No there is ALWAYS a problem, that is what people are complaining about! Once in a while is fine but all the time? I am sorry but I can't simply accept it anymore!

Yes well now I can't even access ANYSITE with MWEB, thank goodness for my 3G stick

Hardly making multiple threads about it, but posts in the MWEB thread? Sure.

MWEB can note all the faults they want, but the problem is that faults keep occurring, and it's ridiculous that I have to have several levels of redundancy on a consumer connection just to maintain constant Internet access.

Last I checked this was a consumer forum, so we as consumers should feel free to complain when services are underperforming. Telling us to switch ISPs and/or stop complaining if we don't like the service is absurd.

Keep posting whatever you want to say about the people you are giving YOUR money to.

true, but i would have to ask myself this : why stay with something that clearly is not working.

if we all just kept moaning about a service rendered by a company and never voted with our pockets, they will keep on being just that sad panda you are experiencing them to be. unless of course in your case you can't afford the competition and have to stick it out with mweb, is that the case ?

all i'm saying in short is ( and i never said GTFO if you don't like it ) is that if it doesn't suit your needs, why are you still with them ?

i've tested linoman's host with both my mweb and my webafrca, both failing - though it was magically noted that just mweb fails, right.

i mean it would not be as fun as when we actually agree that not just mweb is at fault here...

i'm curious, at what point are you going to put where your mouth is ?

I think you need to inject some grey into that black-and-white world of yours. I don't have to love a service unconditionally to keep paying for it, and I won't apologize for the faults of a service simply because I pay for it, nor will I claim that the fault lies with me for continuing to pay for it.

this might be daft, but did you try the google dns instead of mweb's ?

8.8.8.8
8.8.4.4

i think...

give me the host's ip at least so i can do a tracert for myself. no harm i'm sure.

I use opendns and tried WA's dns and mweb's DNS as well as my own custom dns servers... I usually try to not have monkeys tell me **** I know is untrue or "reboot your router" type **** and waste my money on phone calls.

Hi all,

All links have been restored and traffic should now start to normalise, thanks everyone for you patience and understanding.

Engineers will continue to monitor.

Kind regards
MWEB Operations

All working here. NNTP at full speed!! This is more like it. I haven't seen full speed like this for about 3 weeks!

.....bugger. Shouldnt have said anything. After 20 mins its now throttled back to 100Kbs :(

Gents please bear in mind a request timed out on a particular hop in the trace is more often than not simply an indication that the router on that hop is not responding to ICMP requests :)

The faulty link on the Cape Town IPC has been restored and the network is operating at full capacity again, thanks for your patience while we sorted this out. I've noticed a couple of the last few posters expressing frustration over what really sound like localized problems to me. I know that it's nearly impossible to keep you guys completely happy when it comes to P2P speeds :), but the network is in very good shape at the moment so I really would like to ask that those of you who are experiencing general problems with browsing, streaming, or latency please work with our reps here, give them as much info as you can and we will do everything we can to try and help you resolve your problems.

Still having jitter on my account.turn off all PC's and unplugged all network cables and then did a pingtest with a laptop running a freshly installed copy of win7. jitter jumps between 10 and 150.ping jumps between 80 and 230.

problem has to be with my mweb account or my telkom line.going to call telkom for a port recreate (forgot again today) and if that doesn't work then someone from telkom will have to come check the boxes to see if all the rain water is cleared.

if all else fails,I'm calling mweb to try and solve it.

Please let us know if you don't come right Bloodhound -I'll make sure we do everything we can to assist.
