Numerous different accounts are failing for me - Appears to be a TCP issue, as UDP traffic is not affected ( or, it would appear so )

Seems Seacom-Linked, my alternate routes are still open.

Looks like problems 24/7 now. We will have to accept it. It will never be fixed. one problem fixed another problem starting. Can MWEB just Fix it once for all. Can't be that hard if you know what you are doing. I worked in a noc environment so I know it's not that hard to pick up a problem.

90% of the issues are not MWEB's fault - Granted, they're MWEB's problem, ( our problem ) - but they generally get sorted out within six hours. If you're going to whine about how useless they are, please follow through and get off of the network so that there's more bandwidth for those of us who don't spend their lives complaining

Something died again.

Ok I'm tired I was speaking about seacom. My head is not thinking straight. Seacom or people checking after all the cables must do their work I'm sure it can't be that hard checking after then Network thats why there is a command center called NOC. Can I have some details why Google was off.

... and on a side note Mwebs DNS isnt working (don't think it ever worked that well) so I used googles and now afrihosts , that seems to have helped the browsing speeds , and youtube .

MWeb's DNS is often problematic. I have long given up and use OpenDNS. Otherwise the Google public DNSes at 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 seem to work most of the time. Unfortunately, apparently using those DNSes can sometimes confuse the Content Delivery networks (Akamai, Limelight etc) so they then give you content from the other side of the planet instead of something close. Can't say I have seen that though.

Http is doing quite well, the only problem I have atm is the MWEB news server is not doing so well, getting under 10 KB/s for the most part.

Seriously? I assume you have tried the same downloads with another ISP and got double the speed. I assume you have considered the fact that the server you are downloading from is slow. I assume .......... nothing!

I used to have a capped and uncapped Afrihost account. Capped went fine, uncapped went a bit pear-shaped.

Clearly it was late at night for you. Judging by your lovely signature you will soon appear on my ignore list to.

Not to sure what you on about actually.

Well done Mweb !

My ship is sailing full steam ahead.

Your back on the Christmas list :)

Durban ,Amanzimtoti

UPDATE: 07:57
OK it was short lived now the line is back to 12 KBs why am I getting shapped in office hours when I have paid for a unshapped line?

Well here in Durban Durban speed still bearly managing 15 to 20 KBs
Why does this always get worst at the weekend?

Http is doing quite well, the only problem I have atm is the MWEB news server is not doing so well, getting under 10 KB/s for the most part.

My http downloading was also going okey, the only issue is news servers, both Mweb and Astraweb; only doing 20KB/s on a 4meg line, use to get about 150KB/s during the day and full speed at night. MWEB please have a look.

I have problems with the news server running erratic, sometime I get good peaks but it seems now that I cannot get more that 20-30kb/s so it will take a month to download a 11.4GB file. (Movie) So unfortunately I am losing faith in this "now not so uncapped" Mweb product very fast!

I have a 4 meg line and I just do not seem to be able to get the speeds and volume downloads others do. I use no special hacks to bypass shaping. It's seems to me this product is good for browsing only, then my old 3GB capped saix seems the better solution as at least I could use it up in a few hours.

i must somehow my torrents is actaully fast, all my stuff was finished though the night etc, peaking about 460kbs, on shaped

Telkom getting in on the action, technician will be here but they can see no fault. ( I am willing to pay for the call out )

Mweb still shaping me on an uncapped unshapped account I sure of that, I must add this has only been going on for the last week or so.

But its the noise level that Mweb say is the problem but around one in the morning its flying along no problem.

Please put the radio button back were it was...

After this I will be doing some home work on new ISP that works 24/7

This is the worst it's been...not getting more than 20kB combined on anything!

MegasXLR are you on the unshapped product ?

No I am not, yet to shape your own news server so bad that it is useless and pointless to use is just not worth the effort dealing with Mweb anymore. I am definitely not going to pay more for something I should be able to enjoy at least to a certain respectable degree already. You know, that I used to be able to get data faster from the news servers when I was on dial-up many years ago.

love resetting my router every 5 minutes just to be able to connect to 1 website for 30 seconds then timeout
