Spoke to soon, NNTP going now at 27-30kbps, speed is dropping, well it's still better than 10kb/s

Still understandable... shaping rules are kicking in.... As I understand the principle, if network use is minimal, shaping will be less. But if network use is intensive, shaping will be more extreme.
 
Why is Gmail so slow on Mweb?
It takes a long time to load and when it does, the Internet connectivity error keeps popping up. Very frustrating.
 
Because Mweb have introduced a new shapping protocol system in London. :D
As all international traffic for Mweb is routed through London you can understand the problem. Just becasue it says google.co.za does not mean it is local :D
And obviously Gmail accounts are all hosted internationally :D

Doubt he's the account holder so has no choice but to use it. Daddy does not want to change isp because he browses perfectly fine. ;)

On topic: Going at 26kb/s today using more connections to connect. Better but not where it was.

MWeb Guy, could you please help me? I've spoken to Telkom so many times about my problem but they deny that there is a fault. My international has been slow and most times non existent. I've been unable to load Gmail, YouTube and a number of Shockwave or Flash plug ins. I can't even get Windows Update or AVG to update.

Maybe the ASA will be happy if MWEB advertizes their accounts as "uncapped dial-up" ;)

I had a look into your account and it shows many dropped connections. Is your DSL cable plugged directly into your Telkom jack?
Do you have filter's on your other Telkom points in your house, if any?

Have you called Telkom to check your line as MWEB does does manage your ADSL line. I can refresh your MWEB account, which I will do right now and then you need to reboot your router for 20-30min.

Could your also send me ping and tracert results to international & local sites to help me troubleshoot what's going on your account. I know you saying it's slow but could you provide me more of a description of what is slow e.g. browsing, email or downloading?

So like, i wonder when mweb will realize its not just 1 or 2 accounts having a problem, but most of their subscriber base.
 
I luvz me my internet
Mweb, never had a problem until recently though.
Seems I have to restart my router every afternoon.
Speeds are still great though

You based that comment on what proof, please give us statistical data and links please, else check your thumbs, the blood must be flowing already.
