Did as suggested, no change however

Picked 2 arbitary files to test download :
1 Malwarebytes from Cnet
2 Nvidia sql driver from nvidia page.

Both files as single downloads run around 35 -38 kB/sec
When i try both file together they run around 18 kB/sec each.
This shows me that my 512 line is shaped down to 384 almost permanently, considering it is now 10pm at night and the same thing occured this afternoon as mentioned with my initial post.

So while i am sure you did what you could technically on your side , there is clearly more than you are able to comment on going on with the constant low line speeds and degradation of service myself and many more of the posters are experiencing.

I do however appreciate what help you could provide

Did they tell you to reset your router and keep it off for 30 min then turn it back on?

If there is anything else we can actually do from our side that can help, please share.
 
I'm really reaching the end of my tether now...

The MWEB newsserver has been terrible for days now; unconnectable for much of the day and terribly slow or dead when it does connect. A well seeded torrent is running at 3k at 1AM in the morning. HTTP downloads die frequently and web pages fail to load completely and have to be reloaded (often frequently).

Is anything going to be done about any of this?
 
Same here. Amazing how the quality of Mweb has dropped in the last 3 months....

Hi there Mweb Guy. My comments are more on behalf of General CPT users. For the past three weeks the internet speeds have not been the same. I love Mweb and everything they do, so don't take this the wrong way. I have recommended you as my preferred ISP to many friends lately and I don't know what to tell them. I say my internet was great three weeks ago, now its half of what you would expect, especially from 6am to 12pm. I have been on various forums and facebook and I see that many CPT users are saying the same thing. There is definitely a problem from your side as the general consensus is when they plug another ISP into the router, their speeds always increase. My friends Dad always calls me daily and I tell him the speeds are normal at 3 in the morning but this does not help a typical internet user whom is sleeping. Please don't say your typical PM your details e.t.c. - rather tell us for all to see details of whats going on and a timeline on when we can expect our awesome "free the web" internet again here in CPT. Again, im only asking as I would like to refer you to my friends and colleagues and I know what you guys have been delivering. Thanks again, humble customer

Monday was the last straw. I had to get another ISP or I would have murdered someone by now.

Thank you. but when mweb tech give's me "unshapped" account details on another ISP and i have no problem whatsoever and their exact words are "i'm going to escalate, cause there's a problem with your mweb account" makes me wonder why i should pay double if not triple of international prices. My dad in the US has FTH (fiber to home) at half the cost of what we pay. he can download an 8gb blu ray movie in 15 minutes but we have to beg for service! everyone puts down the ANC, but i don't hold them responsible for where we are at. i hold the masses responsible for accepting what there is and nothing else.

do you realize, for a brand new car, you pay double if not triple for the price of the car that is sold in Namibia or Botswana?

Boycott! go without, the empty pocket books of the ones in charge will get them to change their attitude.

if my ***** get's deleted, i have no problem going to court for violation of freedom of speech. i can easily forward posts to the ANCYL of the crap against them. Remember, sun tzu....make friends with those that are enemy of you enemy.

My post had a whole lot of reference to the work 'kuunnt' though

Freedom of speech doesnt seem to exist in this country or this forum - not much anways
