MWEB Uncapped Subscribers Feedback

So is there problems at the moment on MWEB? I'm trying to download some stuff via Newsdemon and I get errors all the time, yet I wasn't getting errors yesterday.

hmmm I manage to connect to astraweb without ssl.. When i try ssl .. no connection at all.

Will is mweb now blocking ssl links to news servers?????????

Try this guys, if you connect via SSL using port say, 81 (which MWEB do NOT want you to do) then you should get full speed, working.

I want to download using the proper routine, but it's dead that way, doing the way I mentioned above, it works.

Right, I've just about had it with this nonsense. As I type this my filesonic download on a 384K unshaped account is fluctuating between 3KB/s and 15KB/s. I cannot seem to sustain anything over 15KB/s for more than 2 or 3 seconds then it drops down again. Standard http driver download from amd.com refuses to go above 20KB/s. What a joke.

If Mweb don't sort this out by the end of the week or at least give some sort of decent explanation as to what the problem is, I'll be jumping ship indefinitely I'm afraid...but then again maybe Mweb wants to get rid of the uncapped users?
I must remember to cancel my debit order because right now I'm wasting R500 p/m.

What I don't understand is that even with so many unhappy Mweb ADSL subsribers right now, there is still no sign of an article on the mybroadband home page about the situation...

must be water on my copper lines with all the rain we've been having.

was fun for a while, but i'm going to look at other options.

didnt you know, a large portion of mwebs customers on mybb had line faults at the same time.
Whats even stranger is that our line faults started acting up at the same time

doesn't for me :(.i get less then 1kb/s

I've asked on Twitter, but I know MWEB will pull the "we have no problems - must be your side" routine.

Till they see this thread obviously, then it's "oops... maybe we do have a problem"

Just cancelled account - will try another isp and see how it goes from July.
International content going at 20kb/s on 4mb line. This is for over a week now :\
