Mweb Guy - Age of Conan, for more than a month now since the new shaping device in London. I have done everything and all the tests that I was asked for but it made no difference. The youtube problem is the same as what other users are experiencing. I've just had enough of it. Its been great up till a month ago and been with mweb since the start of uncapped. I have finally decided to cancel and that is what I am going to do.
 
lol, by the time youre done downloading the closed beta for hellgate on mweb the beta will be over :(

You guys are in for a nasty surprise. The client we are getting is the english version of the korean resurrection build. This is the version from which the original was hacked to and not fixed as it still contains the original errors.

The resurrection build imho did away with what little was in there that made it great like permadeath, game modes and other things. I'm still of the same opinion as I were after playing on the korean servers that HGL is past its time. If they actually fixed the issues and not just hacked away at the code it might have been a different story.

To note: Getting the torrent rather is slow as I also got mine via a direct download.

Rohan, I will speak to our Gamemaster when he gets back on Monday regarding your Age of Conan problem, and liaise with our network team regarding your streaming issue. I will provide you feedback once I have done so.

I will forward the information to our game master to verify if we can replicate this, in the interum have your tried hereticangel's suggestions? (post #2874).

His suggestion only applies if your character gets "stuck", as in can't log in no matter how many times you try. But that is not the problem.
The problem can be replicated by just zoning into and out of an instance a few times, it will happen sooner rather than later.

What is your AOC doing? that damned client has known loading errors, if it's logging in I can't remember that to do, but content loading you have to wait till it's done otherwise you could end up in a continuous loop. afaik There is a file(s) you remove so that the patcher retrieves it again and then hopefully (and normally) it works.
 
Prophet, while on mweb after logging in to the game it just sits there staring at you while loading and nothing happens. You can leave it for hours and nothing will happen. Switching to afrihost immediately solves the problem so its not a game problem but an isp one. I have tried many times switching back and forth between accounts to check it and it only happens when playing on mweb. If you do manage to get an connection with mweb it lags out and disconnects after a while. I have done a wireshark while playing the game and was told by mweb support that the game uses the same ports as some torrent clients and there was not much they could do about it. Wtfast gets me in the game but it also lags a lot and causes huge ping spikes and disconnects - tried it on several ports. Will is aware of the problems but like I said it has not improved.

This is weird, AOC works from here on my mweb. All I can guess it's related to your location to the server itself. I suppose you did a tracert to the server's ip ? However my partner has from time to time complained about terrible lag and so on, I'll ask her how the pvp went last night...

Ah, seems to be having problems then. I switched to HD and it uses 380KB/s but still buffers, and looks like ****e. =/

Doesn't buffer here, but the interface just dissapeared after I tried to switch to HD, couldn't get it back.
 
Speeds much improved - sustaining ~200KB/s on HTTP downloads from FileShare, youtube videos loading quickly. Let's hope it stays this way!
 


MWEB - this is now the 4th time I'm asking, please assist with my NNTP, it is FKED!!!! This is a 50mb file! These are the speeds i have been getting recently - shaping or no shaping this is NOT acceptable! The graph is clearly a picture of something very, very wrong, and i want an explanation. Do not tell me to reboot my router or call telkom, everything is full throttle with any other of my ISPs/accounts. A reasonable explanation! Sort this out man - how long do you customers have to suffer like this? You clearly keep on taking on more clients at the expense of your current client base. While we're at it, what plans to do you have on acquiring more bandwidth for your now massive subscriber base? Or can your existing customers expect this deterioration of service to continue while you continue rake in the cash? Prove you are an ISP that gives a damn and help us out already, this nonsense has been going on for far too long.

Well Giganews is currently cruising along @ 6KB/s, seems harsh for the weekend @ 2210pm, cant complain too much, that puts me somewhere between a 56k Analogue modem and 1 Channel 64K ISDN connection on a 4Mb DSL connection.

How does 114B/s on Astraweb (yep, B/s on a 4 meg line) sound to you...

This is getting flippen rediculous! If your staff isn't available to fix their blunders over the weekend then I suppose we don't have to pay you for the weekend either? Shape up, Mweb, South Africa is getting gatvol.
