Hi kohlhtor,

Telkom has not fixed it yet. What I can do is setup SMS notification that will inform you when the outage has been resolved.

Kind regards,

MWEB Guy

Seems shaping has become even more strict... for a sunday, which afaik is off-peak I'm only averaging half my line on a download.

I have requested MWEB to upgrade me from 384 to 1024 speeds as the 384k was just way too slow.

This was sorted last week.

Now finding that downloads tend to randomly get stuck ... it would download and just stop showing download time left and just sit there ... only if you choose to pause and then restart will it resume, and only if it is a resumable download, else it would just have to be re-downloaded which is not possible as it just times out all the time.

If it is a resumable download then you have to keep prodding the pause and resume icons until it is done.

It will download for 3 minutes at 106kb then slow down gradually until it stops.

Also finding that I cannot get to mybroadband.co.za randomly and only a router reboot would bring the ability back.

Of course mybroadband has and still is up as tested via isitjustme.com, but the message is server timed out waiting for mybroadband.co.za

No amount of refreshing, closing and reopening the browser, cleaning cache etc will display the mybroadband site, only a router reboot works, which is very strange.

When this happens all other sites local and international are loading fine.

Is this MWEB ISP related or can it be Telkom as it only seems to happen now after the _upgrade_ to 1024k?

Anyone else had this happen before?

Hi Astound,

Please advise if you using a DL manager or not and have you tried mybroadband.co.za on different browsers?

With regards to your router reboots, please provide me with your MWEB account details and I'll investigate further.

Kind regards,

MWEB Guy

Re-post because Mweb guy is online and he chooses to ignore the truth.

Mweb Guy. Really...What the hell do you say about the fact that it works on me and Avert's other accounts, like telkom or afrihost. Huh? What do you say about that? You have not been assisting me from day one, at all. You actually ignore me except if other people start to type stuff about it too and quote me. You have not been assisting me from day 1 so that is a lie. You have also not shared this conclusion with me about the 384kbps until a day or 2 ago, so that is another lie. Thats 2 for 2 so far. Now lets look at the last lie. Wanna go 3/3. Okay.

There is no possible way that you can blame our line speed when other ISP accounts do not have this issue. None, no way what so ever. I might understand if you talked about the ICP etc, but how far i am from the exchange does not affect any other ISP so why would it only affect Mweb? Yay you are 3/3 with the lies. Well done.

To your line about "I'll advise that you do research on Blizzard's website and Google WOW queries." I honestly want to say a big F*** YOU. That is a slap in the face.

On a side note : No lag the whole day doing 40man battlegrounds on Mweb. So guess its not my line speed. I started talking about total timeouts to international sites as well, even out of wow. That is the only response you could give me. Pinging an international site in cmd and getting timeouts from time to time has nothing to do with line speed. These timeouts makes WoW lag. So if its fine in 40man battlegrounds with vent one day and i get timeouts while solo lvling without vent the next day. It is your ISP. Face it, any logical user reading this would agree.

Update: Today was fine. That does not take away from the fact that you are lying thou. I would like you to explain yourself.

To everyone else in this thread, any other way I can make my ping better? I know something like battleping/wtfast but sadly I cannot buy some atm. Sad thing is I heard Mweb gives away free WTFast accounts to Mweb WoW players, even saw an article about it on mybb. I was the one who freaking told Will about WTfast and did testing on their test server, yet even with my issues i am the only one they have not offered one. Hahaha. Guess when you call them out and tell them the truth they get butthurt.

I use Firefox 5.0 and normal download manager which comes with firefox, same occurs with IE 8.0

Sometimes the mybroadband.co.za site just will stop loading when clicking to next page of thread and I have to reboot the router in order to view the next page of the thread.

This does not happen on my Blackberry, nor my Galaxy Tab which are connected via 3G to Internet so I know that the mybroadband.co.za site is available.

Even if I reboot the notebook, or pc it will not load the site, I have to reload the router in order to get site loaded again, yet any other sites like bbc.co.uk , cnn.com etc all load fine, even mweb.co.za loads fine.

Will PM my account details to you now ....

Hi Astound,

I replied to your PM.

I guess everybody knows about it but you. ;) You can get a free WTFast account here:

http://www.mweb.co.za/gamezone/?p=WTFast

MWEB is kind enough to sponsor it for you so you don't have to pay a dime.

I recommend checking "Show Server Locations" and trying out our new South African servers and see how they work out for you!

MWEB sponsors WTFast? NICE! I saw they added new servers recently. I was running at 250ms the whole of yesterday on WTFast, but I'm paying for it *.*

Thanks for the heads up! Would've been nice if one of the guys at MWEB actually told me about this while I was whining about my latency. *sigh*

so nothing on the news servers?

Can everyone connect to the mweb news servers fine?

I keep getting unexpected error on my download threads. I am using news.mweb.co.za
