MWEB Uncapped Subscribers Feedback

Fileserve and Filesonic became accessible around 10.30pm last night.

Right now Fileserve not working at all, but I can set up Filesonic downloads.

I still have not seen an answer on why this is happening all of a sudden?!?

@MwebGuy Still no PS3 KZ3 or any online multiplayer gaming ability
Phoned MWEB Tech and spoke to Vuyo extremely helpful and made him aware of the problem and the period it started arising

He said some colleges said that clients have reported this to be from IRC, online Streaming, Gaming, Downloads,Emails, Surfing and Newshosting accounts

I am having a problem receiving any files over IRC, I can connect to the IRC server with no issues. It downloads a little and then the connection just dies or it does not initiate the download connection at all. On my Afrihost connection, it works with no problem. I've tested this on 2 different IRC servers.

My friend is also having the same problem with Mweb. Is anyone else having this issue?

@MwebGuy Can you guys please look into this? I have reported this to the Mweb call centre as well.

fileserve definitely not working

linux torrent downloads running max 20 kB/s , this is local

Really considering switching providers if this carries on.

nothing on NOC notices as well.....
 
Mweb still shaping p2p at 100%.. at 9pm on friday.. they must have a very small network to be running at 100%. Astraweb is dead...


Dont bother phoning support, it just goes dead...

10pm... I am actually getting 10k a second astraweb.

Somebody has flipped a switch and fileserve is running once again.
But is MWEB now just killing the service until after 10?
 
It's not just p2p. Yesterday Steam didn't even want to connect from 5 pm -10 pm. After that the speeds of downloads were soo slow I gave up. Was finally able to play From Dust today.
2 & 1/2 days for 1.7gb on a 4mbps connection is ridiculous.
Lets say Telkom finally gets 10mbps lines out to everyone. I would think it will make no difference since Mweb does not even have the capacity for even 4mbps.

The speeds are better now at around 11 where I am getting 50kbps but that's not what 4mbps is suppose to be. Still Steam does not want to pre-load Deus Ex Human Revolution. Not sure if it's due to slow network or if it's due to all the fan boys trying to pre-load also.

At around 7pm -10pm today almost every international website timed out a few times.

I thought peak time is during office hours?

The first attempt at speedtest.net I got a could not connect error. Fun times.

Actually Will, this is the pathping results I have also supplied to Mweb Guy. So your whole thing about "if you cannot give us these simple results we cannot help you any further" just went completely out the window. I gave Mweb everything they asked for, they recreated the issue on their test bench and then, 3 weeks later i have to jump through hoops again and you insult me by saying i have not given you anything but simple tracerts......

BULL****. Thats complete bull**** and here is the proof of it. When i get 2-3 timeouts and a game dc's. Thats not even enough time to normally do a pathping and catch it. I tried for hours until i could get this one and Mweb just spat on my hard work getting it. Clearly this is the case since you said i have not provided you with it which i have. Your own guy said in this very thread that he recreated the problem. That alone is enough. But no, you spit on your customers now by saying "if you cannot supply us with the info we cannot help u any further, our network team doesnt chase shadows" or something along that line.

So lets sum it up:
1. Already gave you the info you requested 3 weeks ago, which was hard to obtain. (took a better part of 6 hours)
2. Mweb Guy said he recreated the problem on the test bench (which would mean it should be out of the customers hands now)
3. Mweb Guy lied to everyone here when he said in this thread the network team is busy on my issue, while in fact you said here also that they are not.
4. After all the info I have given and the nature of the problem you still spit on me by demanding the info again, knowing its hard to obtain and hoping i will just give up.

Any comment on that Will? I really do not think there is a way out of this one.......All the proof of Mweb Guy's lies are right in this thread. Anyone can look for it and find it.

Please take this up with any newspapers and send this in to carte blanche. They will get to the bottom of this and make Mwebs name bad. Cause this is unacceptable from mweb. They think they can get away with this. Once there was a etwork issue they blamed Telkom and the tech came to my house and he said there was no problem and I saw it with my own eyes. Also called mweb and let the telkom tech speak to mweb and still they say it's Telkom so WTF? There is a bunch of no brainer monkeys working for Mweb. F you MWEB you don't now anything about customer support.

hmmm show a 2% packet loss, from your house to the mweb, so aka before your packets even reach the mweb network you had 2 packets lost , but could be wrong, thats what i am getting from reading the graphs.

Hi Buglish,

Just to clarify, shaping on our network is dynamic, therefore peak time isn't during office hours, it depends on the network load.

Cant play Black Ops today - ping spikes every 2 minutes to 400........... Please MWEB help.... my only off weekend in months.... and now this??????????????!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Good Afternoon Hxx, is this the only problem you are encountering at the moment? Are you running any downloads in the back ground?
