International newsgroups only seem to work after 11pm... This new shaping seems to have started after the seacom outage.

What's the retention on Mweb's news servers and what are speeds like there before 11pm? If retention is at least 6 months, I might be able to use Mweb before 11 then switch to intl after 11 pm.

Edit: On second thought, a retention of 1 month will be sufficient 80% of the time.

Fileserve is working again, albeit at 2Kb/s and I can access those 2 urls and so is mediafire for now at least...
[Edit]Spoke too soon issues are back

@Mweb Guy, it is extremely poor on your part, for blaming fileserve for these issues, they started with the Seacom downtime a week ago, 3 days before fileserve did ANY API maintenance. Many people (myself included) replied saying I've tried a different ISP and fileserve was working.

fileserve isnt a free service so you WILL get a slower speed when using their free service, thats why i use leeching sites to download their files

cybershark, so your telling me a free user can download at full speed in fileserve??? I seriously doubt that, ive used fileserve probably more then you'll ever will. And trust me, I download tons of media through them the weekend USING LEECHING sites and averaged about 450KB/s download speeds per file. Where I once used Jdownloader to see whats the difference in speeds, where I found that free users get anywhere from a speed of 30-50KB/s. So Ummm ja, Dont see where my conclusion could be wrong there.

You obviously got way more issues than that.

How hard can it be, I complained about a slow speed you falsely assumed I must be a free user...

Oh, and if you bothered to read back a few pages, you'd have seen fileserve was working properly over the weekend.

Wolfy seems to be an Mweb fanboy, dunno why he would blindly defend Mweb and falsely assume something from someone he does not know if he does not have a stake of some kind in Mweb.

Oh yeh i lol'ed so hard when Mweb Guy said "im inclined to agree with you" when someone said it might not be Mweb lol. Its like, as soon as someone complements mweb on any front its instant reply with quote. He could have just said "yeh its not us, now i dont have to work"

Just sounded so lol, really. Hahahahaha

Edit: forgot to put this after each post.

24 days since first reported with information
20 days since Mweb guy recreated the problem on his test bench
1 day 18 hours since every bit of information requested was given, no more excuses now, still going strong with no fix in sight.

@Sillicur: Will said he needed some time to check on a few things, so give him some time to check. Counting days and hours and minutes serves no purpose except to frustrate yourself.

Upgrading my line from 384 to 1024 uncapped. Mweb says it will take 10-15 days. Just to understand, why should this take so long? Are there some hardware switches that need to be flicked? Not a major issue, just looking to understand.
In india, if you order a landline, they can have it installed and up and running in 2 hours!

if your line is with mweb, they need to let telkom know etc , takes about a week for the upgrade, ordered Monday had mine by friday.

Why don't you do yourself a favour and lodge a complaint with the ISPA in regards of denied services rendered ?

Hi nasa,

It is even possible for it to take up to 21 working days. We escalate it to Telkom and wait for Telkom to say it has been done but we do keep track on what's happening.

Hopefully we will 1 day be just as fast as India. :)

Kind regards,

MWEB Guy

Because his a little hot headed kiddy and cant vote with his wallet because mommy and daddy are paying and are happy with the service for their basic browsing and emails?

How exactly is lodging a complaint voting with your wallet?

Logically when you have exhausted trying to get support you take it one step up, seeing that mweb is a member of the ISPA he could lodge a complaint there. Furthermore judging by your reply you don't see to be far from that category itself. Next time try to contribute rather than just increasing your post count. Any other trolling won't be replied to.

All p2p was working fine over the weekend, becasue shaping is lighter over the weekends.. This whole problem is caused by shaping. All of a sudden (Since the Seacom Outage) Mwebs lines run at full capacity until at least 11pm therfore shaping to 0kb.. Funny before the outage things would start speeding up around 6pm

Now you are some random dude assuming something with absolutely no facts over the internet.

Reason I wanted to show time is because I would like to show people the response rate of Mweb. Just btw, voting with your wallet, yeh i agree with that, but what if there werent people like me calling them out. The network wont get better if people do not complain. This is a feedback thread......this thread was MADE for people to complain, give both positive and negative feedback. Saying if you dont like it just leave and then assuming i cannot is completely baseless and pretty much retarded.

TLDR: Complaining about someone complaining in a thread made for both positive and NEGATIVE feedback about a paid service is retarded. If you do not understand that basic premises then you are indeed extremely stupid or you are in fact trolling. So which one is it? Troll will get reported, stupid i can do nothing for you sorry.
