Same story as last night on Fileserve ...

EXACTLY the same file ....
On my router on MWeb does not resolve the download name.

On the exact same router on Afrihost, resolves the download name and ready to download.

On my CellC 3G router resolves the download name and ready to download.

SO YOU WANT TO TELL ME THIS IS A FILESERVE ISSUE ONE MORE TIME?!?

Last night around midnight I was able to prep a download on Fileserve, so you do have something in place that is restricting access at certain times.
This is not shapping at all. This is reverse throttling! You are restricting access to a web service completely to a time that suits you.
I do not download during the day on weekdays, but I do like to prep my downloads and tell my PC to start downloading after 11pm/midnight.

But please, come clean and if there are new policies in place, let us know, and we can all decide to stay or go.
If you have screwed up, fix it and let us know.

Same experience my side.. Restricting access is akin to censorship - MWEB have you implemented new policies?
While Ive been a happy customer up to now, Im really considering taking my business elsewhere

i'm getting reaaaaaalllllyyyyyy tired of this s**t now.

what's the use of having an uncapped account if you cannot download anything?

on cybersmart, cellc and axxess everything are fine. on mweb time out.

not nice at all....

Fileserve links now resolving, and quickly after 11.30pm. Were not resolving at 11.15pm.

MWeb definitely reverse throttling ... a dirty word, which MWeb says they do not do.

I wish they would just be honest ... or fix the problem, but stop denying there is no issue.

1:12am and nzb's are going half speed... It's now become "When network load is low, your download protocols will be shaped. When it's high, they will be blocked"

It's actually becoming ridiculous now.

mweb was great in the beginning of this year, but since about end of June, something happened. NNTP downloads are crawling.

MWEB used the Seacom down time last Tuesday to put in much harsher filters, so they could use the down time as cover for this.

I wouldn't be surprised if they are actually buying less bandwidth from Seacom now, hence the harsher filters.

Hi cybershark,

Nothing has changed on our network with regards to our shaping policy.

Also, please advise where you received the information from in order for us to rectify any wrong that was mentioned.

Regards,
MWEB Guy

Can you guys stream youtube seemelessly? i hop onto a saix account and no problem, but on mweb its been **** for the last month!

I am on mweb uncapped 4mbps, and must say that in the last month my speed has dropped signficantly as well - youtube videos don't stream at 360, used to be able to watch 720 videos without any loading time. Wont be long before I change ISP if this keeps up...

click on august survey, if you are unhappy, or happy (lol yeh right) rate Mweb....You could win an IPAD !

Mweb, it is going on a month now since i reported my issue and 2 days 19 hours since you received all the information requested again. No word or update what so ever after i worked my ass off to get you the info requested due to the nature of the problem.

Am I being unreasonable demanding cancellation due to non-performance and erratic service and not willing to follow their terms that I must give a calender months notice?

MWEBGUY: I PMed you the details earlier and would appreciate a response.

you lying cause yesterday some technician called me and they told me they do shape gaming cause it's a constant streaming media.

How can mweb lie so much? Dudes you are shaping and this has changed. I used to get full speed newsgroups at any time. Now I get 0 unless I VPN, and then I get full speed. Not only will I be canceling my service, I will recommend all those people I recommended cancel too. I can take somethings, but not blatent lying.

If nothing changed, then explain how fileserve and mediafire worked for months before the down time last time Tuesday, now downloads don't even resolve to an IP, as far as I'm concerned that is throttling not shaping! Look through the last few pages of posts and tell me again, there's been no changes. Switch to another ISP, problem gone.

Now we come to specific urls not working consistently(they worked over the weekend when there's less shaping) http://www.fileserve.com/remote-upload.php, http://www.fileserve.com/upload-file.php, both pages are working intermittently. Switch to another, ISP problem gone.

As to your last comment, all I can say is, WOW, it takes me saying MWEB has changed its shaping policies, for you to respond!
