If nothing changed, then explain how fileserve and mediafire worked for months before the down time last time Tuesday, now downloads don't even resolve to an IP, as far as I'm concerned that is throttling not shaping! Look through the last few pages of posts and tell me again, there's been no changes. Switch to another ISP, problem gone.

Now we come to specific urls not working consistently(they worked over the weekend when there's less shaping) http://www.fileserve.com/remote-upload.php (it ), http://www.fileserve.com/upload-file.php, both pages are working intermittently. Switch to another, ISP problem gone.

As to your last comment, all I can say is, WOW, it takes me saying MWEB has changed its shaping policies, for you to respond!

MWEB is the best at making excuses. Tehy are the king of lyers. I swear if there was a price for lying MWEB is on top. I think we must make a petition and just cancel mweb. if we stand together mweb will see we as gamers and downloaders can go somewhere else. The agents are so useless all they ever say is nothing changed but the people working with shaping devices have done something. Even our business line is shaped and I'm getting sick and tired of it.

Please can you put the network back the way it where before the outage. I will wait till after this weekend cause hey have upgrade planned for this weekend. We recieved an update via premier department. I also see that my ping in gaming is better when there is less shaping.

They say you get less shape when internet is not so busy so explain people downloading torrents at high speed during night. Doesn't that put stress on the netwrk and won't shaping apply. Stop lying cause We will cancel and you will regret it for the rest of your life. And please stop blaming the client we are not total idiots and you guys must grow up cause if we go to another isp everything is fine so how do you explain that. Oh sh*t you can't i forgot monkeys are not clever. This is a free forum and we can lift our opinions.

I would like to say after the change in the weekend I will see if it's still bad I will have to move to openweb gold. At least I can play games then. MWEB don't care about customer service or do you even know what it is. What I learned when working for Eskom is that you find out from everyone even the service providers if something has changed and just don't go and say it's working fine. I phoned the people working with the router directly and find out if changes has been logged etc etc before saying everythng is fine.
 
Mweb Guy constantly lies and should be fired. As for Will, i guess he is okay but MIA atm.
 
Am I being unreasonable demanding cancellation due to non-performance and erratic service and not willing to follow their terms that I must give a calender months notice?

I told the lady at technical support I'm thinking hard about changing my ISP cause of this crap I've been having lately.
 
I too have been getting an Extremely bad experience with MWEB and surfing and online gaming on PS3
as mentioned before I too have been made aware that MWEB implemented new protocols that dont allow for many streams ie.. PS3 gaming and Youtube, Fileshare, Newshosting

I was told by a Support Tech (Lisa) that users were experiencing it on Afrihost as well, and I can confirm that is not the case as my Afrihost account worked perfectly
So do what changed in the last 2 weeks cos unless reversed you MWEB will lose alot of clients

btw @MWEBGuy my online experience is way to sparatic on surfing every single surf is (Cache Error or extremely long Loading time into Timeouts) also I have been unable to play online this entire week with my MWEB account, and no there is nothing wrong with my line, I have restarted my router, I have switched it off (12hrs), I have asked Telkom to reset my ports and yes MWEB has reset/reauthorised my account still no-online gaming and surfing and downloading are up and down

ja well they all are like that. That's the kind of people they get to do the work for them. People that don't know anything about it. At first she ask me waht my problem is after I did submit a mail to premier department with screenshots. So she could see my ping is 80-100ms with 4mb uncaped account. i thne asked her what do she think is the problem and she sounded very confused. She then told me she can see I'm getting 90-100+ms ping and she told me it's fine for an adsl account like mine. So I told her I'm moving isp if it's like this cause I can get better pings elsewhere and she was like ok we will investigate it for you so tomorrow i want an update please. If no update i will go mad and scream at them cause I tried to be nice for over 2 weeks now. All you people can do is hope for it to go away.

Take for instance a car. If the engine or something is broken you can't just hope it will go away cause it won't.

well, they dont care, they have a lot of customers so if one or two or a thousand leave, there's still many left. thats their thought! the cpa is just another joke, like asa...
 
Is Mweb now blocking port 22 incoming as well? Or having huge networking issues in cape town?

Also getting super low speeds on torrents tonight. My steam is not connecting FFS FFS FFS. please fix this problem once and for all please I'm begging you

Gues mweb doesn't need my money.

I think I should start applying shaping to the money I pay you... or block it.. tit for tat.
 
Im still getting sporadic timeouts BUT weirdly enough, NNTP is going max line speed (40kb/s) the whole day off Mweb news, website for SC2 vods also going full speed.....Im in PE thou, i think it goes through the Capetown ICP....
 
Cant stream movies off Youtube at all they just dont load.
I had this exact thing with my Mweb 1Mbps uncapped account tonight. Like the video would buffer/download completely, but it is corrupted to such an extent that not even VLC can play it. The built in YouTube player only shows a black screen.

So I switched over to my Afrihost account and now it's downloading & playing just fine.

This was really the first time I've had an issue like this. The video I tried to play was Ard Matthews ruins the SA National Anthem.
