My Windows 10 experience

So I'm in the phase with Windows 10 where I want to remove the unnecessary shst that I know I will never, ever, ever, ever use in my life.

I don't have an Xbox and I never will. Is there any other use for the Xbox app or can I get rid of it?
Also, the media players "Movies & TV" and Groove Music is rubbish in my opinion.

I download all my media so I don't need "Movies & TV" and Windows Media Player is still better than Groove Music; or am I missing something?

Can anyone shed some light on whether the 3 apps mentioned above is actually worth keeping?

Generally no they are needed by few users but I see no way to get rid of them either, no uninstall option ...

Actual there is an Cmd Line in PowerShell mode that could used to remove apps with no uninstall, saw this whist Googling etc. not sure of exact details.
Happy with my upgrade after resetting with clean install and removing all of the previous personal details.

I cant get windows 10 to install upgrading from Windows 7 on my desktop . Error with MIGRATE_DATA. Starting to think I should just format

Sorry cannot help - mine updated without a hitch. Just finished a HP laptop from 8.1 also no issues ... , sorry

Anyone else having ridiculously slow boot-up times? Since I switched it takes about 2 or 3 minutes to get from boot-up to the desktop. This happened in about 15 seconds flat on Win 8.1.

Nope, mine boots faster than Win 7, did, which was where I upgraded from.

Slow here as well on different PCs and one didnt like the last update so had to restore.

I'm experiencing the exact opposite. Both my PCs are lightning fast, from start up to shutdown.

Those having slow boot times are probably cause by hardware/driver issues - a clean install might be required.

I need to do a clean install myself, but I think I also need to take the plunge and get myself a 500GB SSD. That should speed things up nicely I recon.

Here is my experience on a el cheapo laptop (Mecer).

The upgrade process took a very long time, and after that just about everything was not working. I recovered a total of 4 times before I was satisfied I had identified all the hassles with the upgrade. These are the ones I found, which may be related to older machines with WIN 7 only but should help others:

a. BEFORE starting an upgrade, remove all non-OEM software by uninstalling what you can, that can be re-installed from the web after the upgrade.. Check for anything that starts automatically on boot up and stop the app from starting automatically or remove it. The upgrade process reboots a PC many times and if at each one something that wants to start but does not complete the process may be causing all sorts of issues.
b. Check you anti virus sw and what it is trying to do, probably disable it or in uninstall it -- it may just see some of the changes as malware and cause elements of Win 10 not to install properly.
c. Clean up first!
d. Mostly, one can be safe with MS software such as Office etc, as this seems to remain in place successfully.
e. Uninstall printer software and their drivers
f. Uninstall third party browsers and other media players, remove all or most Google sw -- real big issues here. After all, all of it can easily be re-installed afterwards.
g. After a successful upgrade, download the MS tool to help with a clean install, and immediately do a re-install, before loading any other sw.

the above worked for me in the end.

So... about Microsoft Edge...

:mad::mad::mad:

Any of you wait forever for a page to load and then after a while it just... stops and you stare at a blank page?
