Lol...not really answering my q but okay.
When lane splitting, how do you handel a road that goes from 2 lanes into 1 lane?
What I usually do, is slow down to traffic speed, then cross over to the right of the lane. I'll keep traffic speed until safe, then move a bit faster, but staying close to the cars. Usually, this means ride on, or slightly to the right of the white line...
Argh, stupid phone of mine typing its own ****. It is to the left of the line, but to the right of the lane. I don't like going into oncoming traffic, even splitting lanes sometimes I feel guilty...If you're over the white line you're not lane splittingI'm not saying I don't sometimes do the same but it is technically not correct, you're in the oncoming lane now.
I'd go between the two lanes as normal then as they merge I'd also merge while staying to the right of the lane like you do. If traffic is flowing I'd take up a car spot during the merge for safety, if traffic is bumper to bumper stop/go I'll sometimes manoeuvre through and end up on the right but in a lane splitting spot so to speak. Then you continue as normal of course, splitting if possible otherwise waiting in the right of the lane
...and going round the left in the yellow line?
assumeing traffic is standing still...

Glad someone has brought up lane splitting. Is it actually legal? I know it's accepted and as a motorist I don't have an issue with it, but is it within the letter of the law? If I change lanes and collide with a lane splitting motorcyclist, who's at fault?
Then you are no better than a taxi driver...and going round the left in the yellow line?
