Well the slide the other night was the front, not the rear. Seeing the road during the day though, it seems a lot of whatever it was got spilled. It's in every lane, continuing through the intersection. Even my shoes were slipping on the surface somewhat.

I will have to look for the TWI on the rear again, I couldn't find them anywhere.

Have you guys actually finished a rear tyre with the outside also warn out, I've only ridden the last 3k km of my rear but I still doubt see myself finishing the outside. And it's call myself an enthusiastic rider.

Do not start on a superbike.

Odds are very good you won't live to tell the tale.

Even the Triumph Street Triple is too much bike for a novice, many will reckon it's naked so it's fine but it will rape that 750 on everything but top speed.

Start with a parallel twin of any variety. Honda NC700/750 or Kawasaki ER6N or F.

Ride it for two years and then try a superbike if you really want to.

I'm almost a year in on the er6f and I still don't trust myself on a supersport.

The amount of close calls, if I'd have been on a sport bike wouldn't have been a close call. But an accident instead.

I'm assuming you mean the cuts in the pattern versus the more smooth rear?

It's because the front carries all the weight and in reality controls the bike. The rear really does nothing but push theory power and needs a bigger contact patch to lay it down.

The front needs room for movement under braking to "wiggle" somewhat to maintain traction.

Also in the case of rain it needs to disperse a lot more water so it needs the gaps.

Yup.

Just the extreme throttle response alone is deadly to a newbie.

The riding position doesn't help.

Should have TWI on front too.

Check the sides for the arrow if it's not obvious.

Will go look for your pictures again now., tricky on phone.

The front do have it, they're clear and still safe.

The rear don't but that's because, as you pointed out, I rode them pap :p

Your rear ones are just way way overdue which is why it seems like they aren't there.

Should have been replaced a thousand kilometres ago. Possibly even more.

But here's a lesson in why relying on TWI instead of a proper inspection can also be bad.
