It is a canbus bike, just a weird connector. 10400 baud rate (also weird and non standard), can interface to a Pi if you're so inclined
For pre 2016 models yes, otherwise it is the OBD-II
Huh? Surely that's a warranty problem? They cleaned all the DCT connectors, said one was dirty and had got water in it, topped up the oil, cleared codes. They reckon that the problem should be sorted... Hope so.
Charging me one hour labour. Not bad.
2013 bikeHuh? Surely that's a warranty problem?
Givi SA , about four months ago I attempted to buy some stuff of Givi SAs web site but it was impossible because you could not select your bike first and then see what was available for your bike , like Givi international .
I now see the SA site is off line for quite a while now(not surprised ) .
Where do you guys buy your Givi stuff from ?
BTW i sent Givi SA a mail explaining the problem .
Talking about the Honda or the BMW now? I Know the BMW is canbus based.
nope, too far too rescue this, abandon ship... One perfectly executed somersault later I can only laugh at myself.
Worse still is when you think you put the stand out, but you only did it half way.Honda. If it's got a baud rate, it's canbus.
On a different note, I had my first side stand incident this morning. Got off the bike and thought why is this darn thing leaning so much? I don't remember jacking up the suspension... oh wait, I didn't put the stand out did I... nope, too far too rescue this, abandon ship... One perfectly executed somersault later I can only laugh at myself. Usually muscle memory kicks in and the stand goes out automatically, but not today for some reason. I don't even remember what I was so deep in thought about! Good thing I've got an adventure bike, no damage at all. It's also a lot easier to pick up on solid ground, vs my usual sandy dismounts![]()
So I gotta give kudos to Honda Sandton - Devon and his mechie. Really nice, helpful guys. Not sure if they were bored because they had no work to do, but they spent a goodly amount of time working on my bike, also doing some proactive stuff like topping up the oil, and showing me how to check the level properly - now I need a paddock stand. Also did a chain service for me and tweaked the horns because one of them wasn't working. All for 1 hour's labour charge.
Why not get a center stand?
