So the Grom got picked up today to go to Honda East Rand for quote/repairs. Here's hoping it won't take too long.
On that note, I've never owned an off road helmet before but thinking of getting something like the Bell SX1 + goggles. Anybody have experience with these for normal road travel/commuting? For higher speeds I've got my Shark which is more aerodynamic.
Well it is something different than a visor which I already have. In summer the extra airflow could actually be niceWhy go the goggles route?
Get the adventure version that has a peak and visor.

Well your eyes are covered, but the rest of your face not so much (depending on helmet of course). You have a meshed intake at the front. How do you reckon more airflow?
The goggles seal around your eyes.
And everything else is a hell of a lot more noisy.
I don't understand this obsession with tail tidies.
Obviously not people who have ever ridden in rain or even on wet roads.
Hmmm, well I'll play with the idea for another month or so and see how I feel about it then. You make a good point though, "expensive mistake" to make.
Just got my bike serviced, 2.3K including a rear tyre.
I really goto get one... Which one do you have? Luckily I am sometimes allowed to work from home. It was pouring in Centurion...I am so glad I have a rain suit today. sure it took forever to get out the house, and to get to a point where I was out of my gear in the office, but its so freaking worth it!
@markbdaniels I have no idea. I got one that fit over my normal gear.
@skeptic_SA why you selling? not getting the time for it anymore?
