It has arrived.

Or rather I've just arrived in the middle of nowhere after treacherous road works and almost going into an invisible ditch.

But I did pick it up earlier.

Wow that looks pretty good. Not generally a fan of these types of bikes but this looks sweet.

And the liners. I went all in.

Will do a proper Day 1 write up when I'm in bed later.

After 600km odd you suddenly have way more comments to make than just a test ride.

Potholes up North are pure insanity.

About to go for an afternoon ride, will see if I can get any better corn pics

Lol @ corn.

Very nice congrats. Did you get the navigator V as well?

Yes but so far it has mostly pissed me off.

Especially today when it wasted a good had an hour to forty five minutes detouring me around roadworks to a then also closed road.

It seems very clunky, slow and cumbersome. I can't help but thing a smartphone is so much more useful except for the gloved factor which my Lumia could do as well.

But it hasn't been updated, so once I get home it might be a different story.

It seems impossible to find decent 600cc bikes in Cape Town. Not even decent ones but basically any 600. I rarely see them even advertised on Gumtree.

I'm guessing you mean at a ridiculously low price. Because I usually see plenty.

The problem you have now is that with the new bike prices skyrocketing people now want more second hand than they are really worth from an original purchase depreciation perspective.

What mapset are you using? The stock one is probably way out of date. GPS Nav on bikes is a fine art... you have to plan your route carefully so as not to detour fastest / shortest route. I've used Tom Tom Rider 5 which was a clunky, clumsy brick. The BMW Navigator V is leagues ahead in speed and functionality.

Yeah still on the stock maps as far as I know.

I did however plan the route in advance but where it got confused was a road works detour.

Will reserve comment for a while. I think in the city it might be quite different too.
