Kid on a bike. Suppose it is legal but I don't think it is a good idea.

Certainly doesn't warrant that kind of response.

As you say it is legal (as long as their feet can safely touch the pegs).

My tougher will be on her own bike in no time and I'm sure on the back of mine on occasion as soon as she fits.

We might as well say taking our children outside is irresponsible...

Not 100% sure at this point. Going to have a look tomo in the light.
Stopped at robot and bike stalled. The clutch was not disengaging... The lever was very loose.
I pulled bike to side of road and adjusted clutch by lever. Managed to start and get into 1st without stalling. About 100 meters up the road same thing...
Adjusted lever to max so adjusted clutch cable by engine to the max. But even that won't disengage the clutch...

Anyone more mechanically minded got any idea? Like I say I will look properly tomo. If I can't fix it I got another problem - how do I get bike to the KTM about 3kms away...?
So KTM Centurion picked up my bike this morning and about 3 hours later it was fixed.
They told me what the issue was, something had to be adjusted inside the clutch. They said this is the first time they have seen this particular issue...
They didn't charge me anything to fix it All I paid was R200 for them to transport the bike which I think is a really good deal considering the missions/cost it would have been otherwise.
They even offered to come pick me up to fetch the bike once fixed
One more bonus is the bike got a long over due clean.

Where's the best place to start looking for a second hand bike, specificely harley?

Searched on Autotrader, and the prices are odd, they range between 60 and 100k - but the years don't make sense, e.g. a 2015 for 69k and a 2013 for 100k... and there are multiple examples like that.

Can't help with that, but if/when you're ready to do your licence I can "assist" with some test material (vs paying those schools to teach it to you)

Customs.

A custom version can easily cost 30k more than a standard.

Remember Harley make more money off accessories than bikes.

I would buy one from Harley directly. It's part of the experience of ownership.

I'll be in te market for a bike towards the end of the yar, early next year.
I have no idea what to look at at this stage. Currently on a scooter, and it's getting too slow for the route i travel.

What bikes do I need to look at that can do over 30km/l. New & 2nd hand.

Older classic bikes? Like the look of the old school truimph bikes, but no idea how it is to drive them or maintenance issues they might have.

Over 30kms per liter... What does the Honda NC700 get? Think they claim 28km/L.

My cbx 250 gets about 25km/l

My KTM 390 gets about 23km/l

I think the KTM Duke 390 might do close to that in mileage. It's a ton of fun to ride too.

Ok, so It seems anything over 20km/l is acceptable then.
My scooter does 23-26km/l
