these fancy new bikes. trip counters, low fuel lights, fuel gauges....

my bike has none of these fancy things! I work it all out manually!

My bike has a kickstand warning that burns constantly because I hacked it, the neutral light doesn't work, I can't really find neutral all the time (strong left hand) and I read my fuel from the trip meter (I get 220km to a tank.)

if my kickstand is out and I put in any gear other than Neutral the bike dies. no question asked.
and I used to work out how far I have gone based on the trip meter, but when the speedo cable snapped last week the odometer and trip metere stopped working. I will most likely replace it next week when I am between jobs.

Kickstand out without being in neutral - engine cuts out
Digital speedometer
Digital rev counter
Digital fuel gauge

... in a 125. Honda FTW!

Yeah my bike has everything a car has, But I haven't had out long I just finished my second tank of fuel yesterday. Though I want to run it till it dies so I know how far I can go on reserve.

4 wheeled bikes with a roof and electric windows are just ostentatious imho.

What bike do you have?

I have a yamaha Virago 535. its either the '92 or the '97 model. or one with some of the key parts of the other.

I know the carbs and the engine is definately the '97 version. but the speedo could be the older model as they did not change.
but the fuel tank is most likely the '92 version. based on there the air filter is.

Ooooh, cruiser. No idea how you guys sit on those things feet forward. I'm a bit older than your bike though :p

I find a cruiser more comfortable. center of gravity is right. on a tourer or a crotch rocket it just feels wrong. feels like I am hugging the bike and begging it to go around a corner, where the cruiser I tell it where to go because I am sitting back and I am in control.

That's where the naked sporties come in. Same setup as a sport bike but the footpegs are usually more forward and the bars more up and backward so that you sit much more upright.
I don't beg the bike to go around a corner, it begs me to go faster around the corner

I hate to break it to you, but they pretty much never ride them away.

Lift and load.

I only did it to look cool and be able to start the bike while I'm standing next to it. I usually fail by leaving it in gear.

yeah i know, but at least if someone does try to ride it away they won't be able to so easily.

my plan is to have the kickstand working as standard only with another switch, so it will still cut the engine if i put the stand down in gear. only if the stand is up but my secret switch not toggled then it'll still die when put in gear.

Your ignition will do a much better job of that.

Also rather let them take it than walk back to mangled bike with open wiring.

Cushioning put back in place.

that small white spec is the earphones mic + control.

Finished product, that's the only visible cable which goes to phone in jacket pocket, with a set playlist. and auto answer for phone calls.

Tested audio quality in my room, quality is good enough, but i doubt it'll be good enough while riding, i'll test tomorrow.

Nice.

I would advise routing wire down the back as in the front it catches wind which often leads to it cutting out.
